I hate how I went from "it's fine if I don't shave for a few months, the beard isn't good, but I'm lazy" to "the hair is 1/64 of an inch and I will time travel to kill past me for the transgression of not shaving this morning." Basically overnight.

the separation of sex and gender is largely a good thing, but it has failed in the sense that it's shifted the goalposts on cisnormative understanding of sex as immutable truth rather than challenging it
