You can tell I'm having a normal one because leaving work my brain went from "I don't know what a Quaternion is, I just know the sound I make when I see it", to "Quat sounds like an arcane slur you hear playing CounterStrike", to "Ray son, Quat daughter" in the span of about 5 minutes.
If I open the IDE on my laptop one more time and it just locks up trying to index my Bevy project, I'm going to dissolve into a puddle.

I wonder what the actual health of the Yarn Spinner project is. Like a lot of Unity ecosystem stuff it seems somewhat under-maintained from the outside looking in. There's a Bevy hook for it, but I'm not sure how reliable it is.

Let me amend this with the experience of someone who has lived in the south his whole life: The last time I saw a Confederate flag was like 2 weeks ago. I spend most of my time in a city though. I know there's a motorcycle shop over the line in SC that flies a giant one 24/7.
No. I spent plenty of time in the south and the last time I saw a Confederate flag out in the open it was hanging in a window in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Racists in the northeast are not better or less racist.

Finally, for the first time in ages, back on my modeling bullshit. This needs some more fucked up boxes and cables and a ground. And also I'm functionally incapable of actually making it entirely through blockout without doing something detailed, so I made an SVG profile as a test for the moulding.

I actually think Acerola's video about this is fairly on point. They're not struggling, the endless chaotic churn is the adaptation. It's all of these companies fishing for the thing that pays for the next 100 pulls of the slot machine, and that's all they care about.
Video games are more popular than ever, but many of the biggest companies in the business seem like they are struggling to adapt and convert that popularity into stability and sustainability.

It's really cool that, now, thanks to OpenAI, the computer I want to build for my remote work space, even if moderately spec'd, now costs 200-400 more because they're hoovering up all the DRAM. I actually like that GPUs now cost 2-3x what they used to.

The PSL organized community meeting about the CBP bullshit going on in Charlotte is over capacity by a lot.

I've been chipping away at V Rising because it's on PS+ and boy has it highlighted exactly how much more picky I need to be about what games I play. I'll finish it, I'm too far along now, but this game feels like it loathes the player. It's wastes as much of your time as possible.

Anyone read a book about the Luddites challenge, difficulty level: impossible
Techbros compare us, A/I haters, to obscurantist luddites opposed to progress.

Asbestos was progress at the time. Look at it now.

A/I is the current Asbestos progress of our time.

It's very funny to watch the YouTube take machine lurch I to motion for Vampire TM2. Like, if you're ever caught saying "how did this happen" you're just straight up being a clown, and people are doing that shit constantly.

Gonna go to new Vine and just start posting videos of me trying to explain things that get cut off and I never ever finish them.

Following more and more people who can draw/paint/etc as more than a necessity in hopes that I can leach like .1% of their skill until I too am able to do these thing. This plan is fool proof and backed by rigorous scientific research. No I'm not bored at work, fuck you.

I made it to choosing my capstone project for a Comp Sci degree at one point in my past. Somehow. Idk. One day I assume I will also understand enums and the right way to use them.
Eventually I will read the Bevy documentation enough times to actually understand how hooks and observers work so I can continue my little project. Today is not that day. But it will happen.

It's somewhat amusing to me that my normie job's IT department goes as far as to lock down non-google search engines in the name of security, but also I asked them to replace my Win10 ThinkPad when the security updates stopped getting pushed a month ago, and have been ghosted so far.

Basically every decently pricey art peripheral: Linux support? Hell yeah we got you covered, here you go, we wrote drivers no problem.

Basically every decently pricey art software: Linux support? Go fuck yourself and die in a fire freak. You'll get a Linux support never, and like it.

The American penny died on Wednesday in Philadelphia. It was 232. The cause was irrelevance and expensiveness, the Treasury Department said. Nothing could be bought any more with a penny, as the cost to mint the penny had risen to more than 3 cents. nyti.ms/48bFd5K

Part of me is like, "you could build a more suitable PC for half the (ideal) price again of the Steam Machine", and then the other part of me is like, "you just spent $40 on the sketchiest possible SATA SSD w/ reviews that say it dies in 3 months for your 8 year old laptop, no you can't moron".
November 12, 2025 at 7:46 PM
The cheapest I can get a build with similar RAM, architecture, and storage to the Steam Machine is $850. That's *without* a case and power supply because I have ones sitting around. That's for an RX7600, R5 7600, and 16GB of DDR5. If Valve beats $800 in that form factor its a great price.
