In 2019, I got off a flight and saw Senator Schumer was also deplaning, walking just ahead of me. I said hello, not expecting a reply. He pointed to my Yankee hat and started talking about Spring Training. We were both excited for a full season of Luke Voit at 1B.

dads in hospice and I am spending our time listening to Irish music and rubbing his feet. He’s not talking much but today he opened his eyes and thanked me for taking care of him. There are no regrets and nothing unsaid between us. He is comfortable and I am at peace.

It should be bigger news that masked agents were filmed hours ago removing potentially inculpatory evidence from the ICE shooter's house, clearly lacking evidence tags or chain of custody stickers.

Before we have word on whether he underwent a toxicology screen at the hospital following the killing

I can never thank the nurses and aides, who have been caring for my dad, enough. I wrote a letter of appreciation and left it with a case of Celsius at the nurses station. Will email unit lead next. People are quick to point out negatives and I think it’s important to praise loudly too.

my psych asks me how I'm doing.

since we last spoke in Oct, I am still out of work, my wife had emergency cancer-related surgery, my father in law passed away in home hospice, and today I signed a DNR for my dad. I'm not great but at least my meds seem to be working?

talk to you in April, doc.

tv is regularly airing an anti-smoking PSA with agonal breathing before beeping turns to a loud flatline.

is it jarring to hear this commercial while sitting next to my dad sleeping in his hospital bed. First time I jumped up out of my chair.

It’s like hearing sirens on the car radio.

first thing I'd do as mayor is change the term to end in may. give me a few extra months on the job and future mayors will thank me for the comfortable inauguration weather

My favorite tradition is when the volunteer fire department drives around with Santa on Christmas Eve. Every year they stop at my house and I give the elves beer.

Been at hospital a lot for the past week (realities of life with elderly parents).

On the bright side, so many people have struck up conversation with me because am wearing a Knicks hat. Fans love this team.

In sad moments, it’s nice to bond with a stranger over Jalen Brunson’s greatness.

Article 22 is a jewelry company that repurposes Vietnam War shrapnel and battlefield debris. A portion of their profits goes to the Mine Advisory Group, which works to remove landmines still left in Laos (they've removed more than 300k mines!). I like the company's "Shard" necklace collection.

somewhere there is a jira ticket where QA reported the search function is not working and the last comment is from a project manager who decided it could be a “fast follow” because of the deadline
