#adventsingles The Fingers - The First Time / Barracuda on Pre-B.S. Records, 1991. My love for The Fingers is both unconditional and inexplicable. They're rubbish, but my kind of rubbish. I cannot recommend them to anyone. Friend or foe.

New website alert! A MASSIVE thank you to the incredibly talented & wonderful @gailmyerscough.co.uk for building it, because I can’t operate a calculator. Just selling Xmas cards on there at the minute, but subscribe for 10% off & the cards are cheaper than Etsy anyway. www.8bitnorthxstitch.com

My Mani charity print is still available. An unfortunate rule with my print sales (I’m very lucky to sell any at all) is that every print I make has a 2 day lifespan for sales. That’s how social media works but I’d love to raise a bit more money for Stockport NHS. ❤️

If you were sad to see the 10" red vinyl edition was sold out earlier, try again. If you're QUICK, you might be pleasantly surprised...

Friday news. I have launched a wee charity gift shop in aid of sight-loss charity RNIB. All designs feature my abstract photos. Times are tough right now so no pressure to buy, obviously. But I would love it if you could share. I’m doing this to raise awareness too. tinyurl.com/3wu5t9wy

Today's #adventsingles is The Pictures On My Wall by Echo and the Bunnymen on Zoo Records. I've never seen them live (it's probably too late now unless they fancy playing @theoddies.bsky.social or The Peer Hat) and I have no interesting anecdotes to share. Good record, though.

Good morning everyone. The 3rd issue of my IN THE APRIL SUN indie pop fanzine is now on sale. I have stock in hand so will be posting out right away. It's a beautiful issue, so do share/grab one. It has some lovely stuff in it; Heavenly, the Lemonheads, Chime School, The Felt Tips & much more.

Fucking Hell, they're playing The Stone Roses at Old Trafford. Who's pretending to DJ there these days?

These will be available tomorrow! Issue 3 of IN THE APRIL SUN has been, as ever, a labour of love.

Typically, on it's eve I cannot find my two Richard Wells @slipperyjack.bsky.social Krampus nacht lino prints. They're nestled together in a stiff A4 envelope that's usually 'right there' on one of the bookshelves, but not a sniff. Hopefully I'll find them in time for next year.

Saw this and momentarily thought Rachel Brosnahan had gotten engaged to Ernie.

Today's #adventsingles offering is Teenage Love Bomb by Australian garage rock napalm-slingers The Dirty Lovers, whose career was ended when two of them were killed in a post-gig car crash. There's some tremendous footage on YouTube. Teengenerate covered the flipside, All I Want.

He gave a talk (and possibly showed a video - it was a Sunday morning, things were a little fuzzy) at Yes! a few years ago. It was really, really interesting.
This week, we’re delighted to welcome Mark Reeder to the show. The Berlin-based producer talks us through his journey from Manchester to Berlin, putting on illegal gigs in the GDR, smuggling East German uniforms back to the West, and encountering The Fall along the way. (1/2)

They are The Total Tits. And you can print that.
SLR 2025 7/11: Manchester's Autocamper are solid faves of ours and their debut album “What Do You Do All Day?” is a 10 out of 10 showcase for the band's timeless charm. Non-twee DIY indiepop that sits closer to early CRE and FN than C86. Thrilling, vital and downright fun.

The hardest working guitarist in rock and roll took it to town for The Liminanas tonight.

Bringing us up to date, here's today's ##adventsingles A-Z+ selection, Cee Bee Beaumont's 'Ready to Riot!' EP on @damagedgoodsrecs.bsky.social . Pretty sure I saw them support The Mummies at Rails in Euston. But only Mark Flunder is allowed to correct me on that. More tomorrow.

Swiftly bring up the rear, it's the second single from my #adventsingles A-Z+ Big Break's 'Exile on Exchange Street' EP on Wrong Speed Records. Saw them at this year's JT Soar Fest in beautiful downtown Nottingham. Highly recommended.

The first record of my tardy #adventsingles A-Z+ is The Astronauts' 'The Big Sound of The Astronauts' EP on Pin-Up Records out of Bielfeld, Germany. Space-suit-wearing low fidelity surf pop. Saw them with Phantom Surfers at Rails Club, Euston Railway Station, London in 1994. Great stuff. #XmasA

Going to follow the example of @carolinebinnie.bsky.social (and many, many more) and do #adventsingles. But as an A-Z. And as I'm behind the times, there will be three today in order to catch-up. And I know there are 26 letters in the alphabet...
