It won’t go well that only the Supremes were taken care of.
As judges face more threats, only the Supreme Court gets new security funds

The horrific shooting of National Guard members is not an excuse to increase their presence against local rule, community sentiment & a pending court order. Public safety results from data driven policies-not a reactionary show of force from the executive.

Shootings in DC are down substantially from where they were a few years ago having fallen steadily since mid-2023. Gun violence fell briefly in the wake of the National Guard + Federal law enforcement deployment but has largely returned to its pre-intervention level over the last few weeks.

precisely my thought. the president and his dumbass republican allies put these men and women into harm’s way for a political stunt and look what has happened
Whether this was random street crime or targeted political violence, I think it was bad for the president to unnecessarily put the National Guard in harm’s way like this. They simply don’t need to be there.

#BBCNEWS Stop using word “Democrat” instead of “Democratic” when referring to Democratic Party. You have adopted the pejorative used by the GOP. You need to stop it. Talk about bias — BBC is completely in the can for GOP. Just review their guests — mainly GOP.

The strangest insult in US politics: why do Republicans call it ‘the Democrat party’?
For almost a century, opponents have removed the ‘ic’ from ‘Democratic’. Is it doing them any good?

That's because it only takes 5 years for ANY federal employee to be vested. She can't collect until she's 62. It'll be $8700 a year.

Just like ANY OTHER FEDERAL EMPLOYEE.

Members of Congress don't receive a salary after leaving office. And their pensions are based on years of federal service. In fact, House members who only serve one term get no pension benefit at all, as 2 years is too short a time to be vested.

ICE isn't even a "papers, please" situation, which would be bad enough, they are abducting people off the street without having to show any cause or even identify themselves. In other words it is committing widespread crimes against humanity. Imprisoning everyone involved is the moderate position.

Great to hear Rachel Reeves acknowledge that "there are many reasons why people choose to have children then find themselves in difficult times. The death of a partner. Separation. Ill health. A lost job. I don’t believe that children should bear the brunt of that."

So why should migrant children?
