Personnel is policy
This is a photo from the Vanity Fair article. Notice how they have to arrange it so Stephen Miller is on the end, so it isn’t obvious that there is no reflection of him on the mirrored table.🧛

How else will we close the Hitler Youth gap?
Forcing all colleges and *high schools* to have chapters of the Right-Wing Teacher Harassment Grift Machine is insane, even by Texas standards
Happening now: Texas leaders announcing a rollout of a statewide program to put TPUSA chapters in high schools and colleges across the state. Gov. Abbott adds that schools that stand in the way should be reported to the Texas Education Agency.

Shorter Tom Cotton: if they’re brown, they must drown.
Himes: "As many times as Tom Cotton may say it doesn't matter what they were doing, it matters essentially what they were doing ... these guys were barely alive much less engaging in hostilities"

“Drug boats” are the new weapons of mass destruction
The US government is summarily executing people on a weekly basis without telling the American people any of their names or presenting any proof of their guilt, for alleged crimes that do not carry the death penalty in the US.

Maga: participation trophies are for spoiled children
Trump: did someone say TROPHY?
Mockler: It's honestly humiliating that other countries are treating our president like a child, like a baby. It's like if I created a peace prize and I gave it to myself. I'm like, I'm just going to keep this medal on all night. Our president is an actual child

Barrasso and Cassidy should surrender their licenses. They’ve clearly broken the Hippocratic oath.
RFK Jr. is obviously a dangerous fraudster. But he would not have the power he currently has without being aided by the Republican Congress—in some cases, by members who should know better.

I despise RFK Jr. but I also harbor a different flavor of contempt for doctors like Cassidy and Barasso.

My best guess regarding the Ukraine/Russia negotiations is that both sides fully realize there is simply no overlap in the Venn Diagram of what each could accept in terms of conditions and assurances.

None.

However neither can afford to alienate the US by not engaging in the pantomime of looking.

Yes, Donald, the war in Ukraine never would have happened had you been President. Just like Jeffrey Epstein never would have abused those girls had you been his best friend.

The only time I’ll ever suggest listening to Katie Miller’s podcast. Flowers to Charlotte Jones.

Choose the strong way: “there’s strong ways to cave and…weak ways…from a different posture, it might not have appeared… like surrender…if…Schumer, went to the mics and said: We have tried everything we can to make Republicans give you your health care back. The only way…is to elect Democrats.”

Smart: “Donald Trump can’t be trusted with a full-year budget…we’re going to give him one month of budget authority [at a time]…to keep him on a very short leash …And if he and Russell Vought break the budget law even one more time, there will be no more Democratic votes for even a month of budget”

Maybe your colleagues should have thought of that.
But there are real dangers out there that must be fought; and energy spent fighting each other is energy lost to that bigger fight.
