This is so true. And I will say that I am completely disgusted by the rabbis who this week made Zohran Mamdani into some kind of threat. We appeared to have forgotten our entire history.
The dream of every Muslim is simply to be treated the same as any other New Yorker.

And yet, for too long, we have been told to ask for less than that, and endure hatred and bigotry in the shadows.

No more.

Wow.
The Trump Administration made a deal with El Salvador that threatened years of U.S. law enforcement work to fight MS-13 so they could send people to CECOT—one of the most inhumane prisons in the world.
Exclusive: In order to deport immigrants to El Salvador’s most notorious prison, Secretary of State Marco Rubio promised President Nayib Bukele to betray arrangements protecting some U.S. informants.

However the Trump administration now tries to justify its strikes on private boats in the Caribbean, nothing it can say magically unlocks legal authority to use lethal force against civilians.

Congress must rein in this egregious abuse of power.
Trump's boat strikes are killing potentially innocent civilians. They must be stopped.
On Tuesday, President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. military had killed six people in a strike on a boat that, Trump said, was “trafficking narcotics.”

Waste, fraud and abuse, and also it's more confirmation that you can crime with impunity if you're a rich white guy who likes Trump.
Trevor Milton, who was estimated to be worth $1.1B in 2021, was convicted of defrauding investors, and the DOJ wanted to secure over $660 million in restitution for his victims. But Trump’s pardon wiped out that sum. And this week, the SEC dropped any chance of recouping money from civil penalties.
Trump Pardoned Him. Now He Won't Have to Pay Back $660 Million
Trevor Milton and his wife donated $1.8 million to Trump in 2024.

Trump violated the law by firing government watchdogs, yet they won’t be reinstated, got it, so violations of the law are apparently okay? A federal judge in Washington rejected a bid to restore eight inspectors general who were dismissed shortly after Trump became president.

Whatever else you think of him, I don't think he is insincere about this stuff, and it should be recognized as extraordinary that he, Pritzker, and other governors are talking about the federal government in these terms. It's not normal political rhetoric, it's the language of existential emergency.
Newsom: "I fear that we will not have an election in 2028 -- I really mean that in the core of my soul -- unless we wake up to the code red, what's happening in this country, and we wake up soberly to how serious this moment is."

Let’s be clear: What Donald Trump said in public, in plain view, on his own social media feed is more corrupt and dangerous than anything Richard Nixon was caught on tape saying in the White House tapes. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/rid-me-of-...

Sadly we are seeing this proven correct right before our very eyes.
The concentration of wealth in the hands of a few isn't just bad for our economy. It's corrosive to our democracy.

When the wealthy and well-connected control our political system, regular people don't have a voice.

The result? The demagoguery and corruption we're seeing now.

🚨BREAKING: Cal State LA just moved classes online and let faculty work remotely, not for a storm, not for COVID, but because ICE is in the area.

Let that sink in, an entire university is treating immigration enforcement like a public health crisis.

I am glad that today the governor signed a new law repealing New York's ban on providing food and water to people waiting in line to vote. However, it should be clearly noted that this was the result of successful litigation brought by the Brooklyn NAACP -- which the state fought and lost in court.
