"Why be part of the solution when you can be the whole entire problem."
Was talking to my best mate recently - what's happening to the Christmas beatles we used to see everywhere as kids?

There was a prime breeding location @ our old primary school that was lost years ago, & they've diminished rapidly in our community ever since.

I miss seeing them.

YouGov public poll finds 92% support for tighter gun laws when suggested in the context of the Bondi terrorist attack. Perhaps it would be different if that context was not stated.

I really love these movies they're all different from each other. This one gave me real Murder on the Orient Express vibes. Like sitting down to watch Poirot with Dad. Worth a watch!
Even as a gentle little chuckle films the Knives Out series is great 🔪🩸

@ingridh.bsky.social hey look at that!
Tasmanian-based polling firm EMRS will now be run by Brad Stansfield (who was already a co-owner) and will expand to include PR. (see final Fontcast as such episode here www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8wJ... ) #politas
Is this the end?

Urgh I hate political parties intruding into council elections. There should be legislation introduced that bans endorsed or affiliated party members from running. They're a cancer on local government. #politas
Now three Greens on Hobart City Council. Sherlock was an ALP candidate at the 2018 state election.
Hobart City Deputy Mayor Zelinda Sherlock ( @sherlockhobart.bsky.social ) has joined The Greens

Liberal party insider, former politician, former minister, lobbyist, let slip today that the cost of the Stadium will be $2.3 billion not one red cent less. 🙃

Waking to find out Helen Polley has blocked you for calling her a dragon is like having your birthday on Christmas and still getting double presents. #politas.

Urgh every time I forget about this dragon of a woman I'm reminded she's still in office. I would dearly love to name names on who fucked Tas Labor up. She's on the shortlist. But one must pretend to behave a while longer yet.

That tracks.

Rocky will be retired between Xmas 26 & Easter 27 - at very latest.

Shelts to go mid term for S. Cameron.

K. Vincent only agreed to one 6 year term.

Party's cooked.

On the grapevine, hearing Font PR is closing down. Becher retiring and Brad doing his own thing.

Interesting times. #politas

A brilliant article from Crikey on how the social media ban came to be. As suspected, it's got absolutely nothing to do with the safety of young people and everything to do with mainstream media retaining its fading relevance.

Advocating for game meat to go to charities. The SFFP et al have done ZERO community consultation on that. Refuse to. Claim they can't afford to.

I say they're using the poor as leverage just to shoot more deer.

They don't really represent farmers or fishers, they're all about the guns.

Seeing a couple of comments suggesting a Labor / Green coalition.

Never. Gonna. Happen.

Tas Labor LOATHE the greens, & constitutionally can't form coalition with them if sharing portfolios is involved, & need permission from the national executive, who'll never give it anyway. #politas
#EMRS Tas (state)

"🔵 Lib 34 (-4)
🔴 ALP 25 (+1)
🟢 Grn 17 (+4)
⚪️ Ind 19 (=)

Net Favs
🔵 Rockliff -1 (-19)
🔴 Willie -4 (-8)

n=1,000 50% CATI 50% CAWI Nov 17-21"

An ordinary poll for the govt after a good run lately but again Labor doesn't pick up much and the winners are the Greens. #politas

Rockliff and O'Byrne were responsible for this. Libs gave him something they were already considering re hunt feral deer in forestry, DOB has been getting pally with Di Falco for a while. He'll be another one term wonder.

Carlo di Falco (SFF) who ran on an anti-stadium platform at the election, will be voting for the stadium. Says debate changed his mind + didn't know enough about issue during campaign. #politas

There's a new social media app being built called skylight.

It's built on the Bluesky platform so much the same as being here but a bit like TikTok. It's decentralised and secure.

Exactly my problem with this. Creating 'almost creatures' that aren't actually what they look like. It cheapens life and diminishes the harsh and painful lesson of extinction.
Yes this is another concern I have about it. Trivialises the fight to save threatened species because some people will go "who cares if they become extinct, you can just clone them back anyway".
