I've always loved the sage advice and story telling of unapologetic liberal Anthony Bourdain. Miss him. Good to revisit this after the week that was.
Read it and breathe.
No rendering? Does he know anything about cooking lamb? #MKR

Refreshing to see media releases in past days from the govt and opposition without the childish 'attack dog' tone ie Ellis. My inbox is breathing a sigh of relief. If this is the future of the new-look collaborative parliament then bring it on! #politas

Find it incredible the TCCI is now pouring scorn on Tasinsure. (Michael Bailey ABC Radio this morning). Where was the business group during the election when this nonsense and unworkable pledge was made by the current government during the campaign? #politas

Now let's hope they read their framework for collaboration and actually collaborate. A good start would be to go back to the drawing board with the Greens and the Independents. #politas

Perhaps Sydney could do with a roofed football stadium? #politas
The fact that Sydney just had its wettest August in 27 years, and we are barely halfway through the month (which is supposed to be dry) should deeply unsettle you:
Sydney records most rain since weather station opened in 1858
Sydney's wettest August in nearly 30 years has tipped the city's recent climate into uncharted territory.

Why Winter is even bothering is beyond me. He's been out manoeuvred by the Government at every turn. He should stop wasting everyone's time and hand in his resignation. #politas
No-confidence motion is on but this is a T20 version with 15-minute speeches, 3 ALP 3 Lib 2 Green (and not sure if it's 1 crossbencher or each crossbencher). #politas

So if I cook some potatoes, add broth and call it risotto then I can get equal marks with somebody who uses amazing creativity and technique to make ‘oysters’ filled with flavour in one bite. Righto #masterchefau

Out of frustration of how the conversation is so single focused in Tasmania I wrote this piece published in today’s media.

The stadium has dominated the past two elections don’t let it dominate the next four years. #politas

Saul Eslake says the State’s budget crisis will worsen with no major party given a mandate to fix it. “Neither side sought, nor has, a mandate to do what needs to be done to fix the budget so it will just get worse."

So why do they all continue to ignore to this voice of reason? #politas

Excellent OpEd by @ingridh.bsky.social, President of COTA Tasmania. Not only does Tasmania need a Minister for Ageing, but it needs a dedicated body (advisory council) to conduct/commission research and provide policy advice to the Minister in relation to a rapidly changing demographic 1/3 #politas

This analysis of minority governments 'No Harm in a Minority Retort for Major Parties' Merc July 8. Don't listen to the horror stories some are trying to suggest about what is a truly democratic system. Wayne Crawford's experience is a breath of fresh air in political reporting. #politas

Beau is an example of the program continually focusing on the ‘popular’ cooks and ignoring the talented ones! He’s a fantastic quiet achiever. So disappointing we only see a favoured selection of contestants and not all of them. Frustrating too! #masterchefau

Just wandered around DTLA between Broadway - 7th Metro and down to 11th. It's not a war zone. Broadway's already cleaned up and people are going about their business. Got an excellent coffee from a new Yemeni coffee shop. Picked up some fruit. This town deals with a lot of shit but it's resilient.
