Long live the ‘80s!
I finally got the excellent 1chipMSX core running on MiSTer. And just in time. 🧛🏻‍♂️

Totally kickass ad poster for the criminally underrated Colony Wars on PlayStation 1.

To my of-age Glow-in-the-Dark fanatics out there (you know who you are) don’t sleep on the Angry Orchard hard cider thriller pack. They have a fun Friday the 13th tie-in and as a bonus the box has a pretty neat GitD design. I’d post a pic but it’s funner if you see for yourself.

This issue of VIDEO marks the very first appearance of the first recurring column on home video games to feature in a nationally distributed consumer-focused magazine. The column was called Arcade Alley, written by Bill Kunkel and Arnie Katz, and would continue to run until the August 1984 issue.

With a nod to their Activision roots and the halcyon days of the Atari era, Audacity Games will still send you physical patches for meeting certain achievements on their Atari 2600 games. Shown here are the two patches and letters you can get for Alien Abduction, the spiritual sequel to H.E.R.O.

Mind blowing that we can boot up historically significant systems like the Altair 8800 and EDSAC (+ many more) on MiSTer FPGA. The pix show the UI overlay for these running on the 77” OLED 😎 - it’s a great way to experience and interact with the history of computers. #knowyourroots #notjustforgames

Looks like this action focused Goofy game would’ve felt right at home on the NES. Too bad we never got a port. I unfortunately don’t have the disk (box only), has anyone played this? Any good?

Bram Stoker’s Dracula on SegaCD is uneven, unfair, crudely animated and yet… it has a certain charm.

Assembled my new transparent smoke MiSTer Pi case. Feels more like a legit console now. Totally love it.

Probably a small niche of interest here, but for what it’s worth iCode’s Arcade Spinner Ultimate works with zero configuration on Arkanoid vs Space Invaders+ on iOS Apple Arcade. Hold yellow button to move vertically, hold blue button to move horizontally. If you tinker I bet there’s better configs.

Just to bring some extra attention to what Gaming Alexandria's community is doing here --
Japanese game magazines are full of type-in programs created for Family BASIC. Lost NES media! They're doing the work of getting them typed in and available again.
The Spirit of Satan by Shingo Yasue type in for Nintendo Family Basic has been preserved by @ozidual.bsky.social. Enjoy! www.gamingalexandria.com/wp/2024/11/t...

The QJ - SG MegaStar SV-433 is one of the weirder SEGA Genesis / Mega Drive controllers I own. They also made a similar one for the NES, the SV-333. The “C” button is ridiculously clicky on these with a deep plunge depth. It may prove a good fit for one-button arcade games tho🤔
