Whew.

I sat next to some 20-something guys at Henry's Hi-Life last Sunday. One dude put $500 on the Pats to win outright (no points, payoff was 3x the bet if the Pats won). He was fucking stressed from the initial kickoff. I left at halftime so Idk what he looked like at the end.
In the future we're gonna look back at online gambling and prediction markets in the same way we look now at cigarettes on airplanes and lead-based paint

Great interview with a current moral leader and future parliamentary one of the Democratic Party.

She’s from a largely Latino district in Chicago that has been terrorized:

“They’re afraid. Their lives have been fundamentally changed forever….” \1

“The vast majority of the planned cuts are to basic public health infrastructure: things like recruitment, training, and IT systems for local health departments.”

Worth calling your representatives, even if you are not a resident of the targeted states:

The Trump administration is planning to terminate $600M of CDC grants to CA, CO, MN, and IL. We're publishing the full list.

They are using vulnerable communities as a weapon to dismantle public health, targeting partisan enemies, and manipulating media. 🧵 1/5

i think this more than anything is what miller wants. vast detention camps with all of the suffering and death that means.
ICE has now spent over half a BILLION dollars just on purchasing warehouses around the country to convert into detention camps.

If these mega-camps are utilized to the full capacity ICE intends, they'll be the largest prisons in the country, with little real oversight. www.ajc.com/politics/202...
ICE to begin detaining immigrants inside Social Circle warehouse in April
Homeland Security plans to build warehouse detention facilities in other cities being met with opposition.

And they aren't all crowing about it on social media, so let's not assume that all the people in hats and buttons passing out whistles are doing nothing else. People - "wine moms," "knitters," who else do you think has ready access to breast milk? - are working behind the scenes for good.
A detail I don't want to get lost in this: So far, Bri and her network have helped more than 500 families with grocery deliveries and more than 300 with diapers and wipes. In just two months.
In Minneapolis, for every story detailing the fallout of the federal crackdown, there are as many stories of people like Bri, a mom donating breastmilk for babies whose mothers are detained by ICE.

Bri's story:

KAITLAN COLLINS: What would say to Epstein survivo---

TRUMP: You are so bad. You are the worst report. No wonder CNN has no ratings. She's a young woman. I don't think I've ever seen you smile. They should be ashamed of you.

Batman is at every rally and march in downtown San Jose. He's pretty well-known as a homeless advocate. In fact we were just talking about his city council takedown before the Alex Pretti/anti-ICE bike ride today. This is awesome.
This is incredible???
An unidentified man dressed in a Batman costume angrily confronted Santa Clara city officials during a joint meeting of the City Council, city authorities, and the Santa Clara Stadium Authority on Monday, using his public comment to condemn the city’s stance on cooperation with ICE.

I don't bake that much but we bought way too much puff pastry in Dec thinking we'd use it all for holiday appetizers. Wrong! Today I used 2 sheets to make simple chocolate rolls and apple tarts (roomie took a tart to his daughter's house for dessert ❤️).

Congresswoman @ayannapressley.bsky.social has been trying to get qualified immunity eliminated her ENTIRE career.

What the fuck is it going to take to get people to listen to her?
There's no ICE accountability without ending qualified immunity.

They're murdering people. There won't be justice for the lives they've stolen, but there must be accountability.

My bill with @markey.senate.gov would ensure families can sue the agents murdering their loved ones.

Absolutely.
a lot of Democratic officials have asked the protesters to be careful to not "give Trump what he wants" and I think it's fair to ask them to do likewise

So which politician is calling for the dismantling of the probably illegal database that ice & this government is collecting biometric data of protesters?

A grassroots network of mutual aid volunteers called Safe Haven has been doing nearly round-the-clock jail support for everyone released from detainment at Whipple, the federal building ICE operates from.

They provide medics, rides, food, clothes, phones—anything people need after being released.
