Two tiers , but with relegation & promotion, all series of 3 tests, and if IND, AUS & ENG are not in same tier, then they DON'T play each other. This is the only want for #tests to survive. #WTC
Test series in England against Australia and India every three years instead of four, at the expense of not playing Tests against Pakistan and the West Indies at all.

Not unlike with domestic cricket, the ECB seems to favour saving Test cricket through shrinking it www.theage.com.au/sport/cricke...
Top flight: Australia, England, India in talks to split Tests in two

Saw his name linked again so going to reiterate, a resounding NO to De Zerbi.

Being an apologist for an abuser should automatically disqualify him from the role.
Saw De Zerbi’s name linked with the job. Stay away!

Michael Carrick is a man who ‘hates’ the word philosophy, but has firm football convictions; he can be standoffish but never goes after players in public; and he is a disciple of Sir Alex Ferguson.

This is what to expect from Manchester United’s new head coach.

Hard to believe it's not Solskjaer, it's Carrick you know.Sad Ole can't come back to lead us to a title, but Carrick will do.Interesting choice of backroom staff. Good Fletcher goes back to U18s & finishes a good season. Is Carrick's kid eligible to be named in first team, go on Michael put him. #MUFC

Just introduce time outs fuck sake. It's so blatant goal keepers getting "injured". #LeagueCup

Saw the Szoboszlai "back heel", that is so stupid, infront of the goal, with a player behind him, Barnsley manager is right very disrespectful to them. #FACup

Yer - it's like… rugby already did this research for you guys!

Injury replacements *will* be manipulated to become de-facto subs, because there will always be someone sufficiently unscrupulous, so you might as well cut out the middleman and just allow subs!
January 12, 2026 at 10:53 AM
It would be advantageous for Big 3 with technically bigger squads & selection of players, but rather have a substitue , irrespective of injury than this where it will always be manipulated.
Nothing necessarily imminent, but ECB are keeping an eye on ongoing injury replacement trials in Australia, India and South Africa, which is relevant for the County Championship. Sheffield Shield have extended their pilot until the end of the season.

Get Solskjaer as Director of football, shake hands with Wilcox, and tell Berrada to just concentrate on commercial stuff, leave football to Ole & Vivell.
Darren Fletcher, in caretaker charge for two games following Ruben Amorim’s sacking, is in line to potentially assist Michael Carrick as a coach.

It is thought another coach coming in to support Carrick would also be on the cards.

Very difficult for Fletch to step in at last moment, but this assistant thing, rather he completed the year he started with U18s, that is important too.
