England 54-5 v Pakistan #CWC25 🏏

Probably not the ideal powerplay from England's perspective.

Perhaps also it would be useful to know how many chances are being missed?
Amy Jones is top of the list, but she does fumble a few (so could be even further ahead!).
Ghosh _might_ be taking a higher percentage of the chances she is presented with than other keepers.

Agree. I don't think that data is public tho. (Opta/ Cricviz/ etc. have it, but it is very, very paywalled.)

Wickets are tumbling at this Women's World Cup!

Teams are losing on average 9.3 wickets in the 1st innings, compared with just 7.6 in 2022.

The question is… why? Better bowling? Poorer batting? Pitches & conditions? Sides consciously sacrificing wickets for runs? What do you think?

It's still in India's own hands - win all their games, and they will definitely go through. But you are right - India v New Zealand looks like it could be a virtual quarter-final.

Yes and no! It was my team before I was born - my dad went to his first Arsenal match in the 1940s; and his last in the 2020s; and my mum and dad still live a stone’s throw from the stadium. But we are in Hampton now, where Raf grew up.

Thought this was an interesting indicator of where women's football is at now - this was before today's Arsenal Women game v Brighton at the Emirates - all the merch stalls had a lineup like this of scarves and shirts and posters with the women on.
A stall at the bottom of Highbury Hill selling Arsenal merch, and it's all the women's players - scarves that say "Chloe Kelly", "Russo", "Williamson" etc.

It is not a perfect indicator as you say - it feels like they should still qualify - but it is indicative of the fact that if they lose another game it is going to get dicey for them.

No - this is pure maths - there are just over 14 million possible "scenarios" and India qualify in 53% of those.
