Another Americanism in one of today's reports - "two wins clear".

The boys can’t lose 16-0 🤣
As we wait for these final hours to pass, let's have your (England) positive takes only.

England are undefeated at the Perth Stadium

Cricket is just a microcosm of this - from Allen Stanford to The Hundred.
John Le Carre was right about the British establishment and how the alumni of the best schools will sell out their own country for status and money and in particular a desperate desire for American attention

Think It's about the price. They might feel they can get them back for a price that's lesser than what they would have paid by retaining them... Ofcourse that's wishful in a way but still.. Also there is a possibility that they couldn't come to terms with the players and they wanted to go to auction

Suddenly the "Mega" Auction doesn't feel quite so "Mega" any more.

Like… who do UPW think they are going to buy who are better than Deepti, Eccles and Kingy, who haven't already been retained?

Are we sure this isn't an April Fools'?
Inspired by Major League Baseball, any ball that is hit into the stands in the first over of an innings in this year's WBBL and BBL can be kept by a fan in the crowd 🤲

To maintain competitive consistency, a new ball will be introduced after the first over and used for the remainder of the innings

Interesting that they've gone with "Leeds" rather than sticking with "Northern"? (I'm assuming they were not permitted to use "Yorkshire".)

From the BBC piece on The Hundred auction.

Worth noting that Gads was very-much saying the quiet part out loud here, 'cos in theory the players didn't have any say with the draft either, but in practice… well… let's just say that for a senior player the outcome of the draft was rarely a surprise!
