The sense of scaling in a 5 minute match of City Trials is actually unreal. It is the same progression as a MOBA or roguelite, but cozy and multiplayer.
I don't even like kart combat games, but Sakurai is a magician.
I was reluctant to spend $70 on Kirby Air Riders but this game is perfection.

I reject the notion that "practicing down" is a waste of time.
For example, when you practice around the same level or better, teams usually focusing on winning.
Playing against weaker teams allows you to focus on how to KO and how to setup for big pushes. Or experiment with new ideas/gameplans.

The more I play the Kirby Air Ride beta, the more confused I get.
- Is there no way to race online?
