The sense of scaling in a 5 minute match of City Trials is actually unreal. It is the same progression as a MOBA or roguelite, but cozy and multiplayer.
I don't even like kart combat games, but Sakurai is a magician.

Kirby Air Riders is exactly like Smash in the sense that you shouldn't judge the competitive viability by only looking at the 16-player games!
