Who donated four boxes of household goods and a vacuum? This gal! (What you wouldn’t stress buy multiple vacuums in response to your POS ex husband choosing to disappear?)

I think often of the women in the Louis CK story—how they all left comedy and never went back, but he’s still going. It’s everywhere and it’s such a loss for them and for us—for things they’ll never make that we’ll never see.
the Epstein files are really devastating because they remind me of how many girls and women miss out on professional opportunities, mentorship and careers because of how many powerful, rich and influential men only view girls and women — and interactions with them — through the lens of sex

I realise I've said for a while that eating the rich could lead to prion diseases, I must caution everyone that the risk is greatly increased by the rich already having eaten people.

I must insist on ensuring they remain several steps removed from our food chain. Please dispose responsibly.

It's -20 in Minneapolis and organizers are in the streets before dawn getting ready for actions related to the general strike. They've had locals training out-of-town volunteers on how to prepare for and endure the cold. AND IT IS WORKING. THE STRIKE IS HAPPENING. THE CITY IS DOING THE DAMN THING...

We already had the real-world experience of unvaccinated people getting measles, and it's why we invented the vaccine for measles.

It's one thing to be a sociopath playing with the lives of others. It's another to be gleefully stupid about it.
RFK Jr. appointee Kirk Milhoan has just clearly stated, out loud, that he wants to experiment on the people of the United States by seeing what happens as vaccination coverage plummets and infectious diseases spread.

I'm in a 'purple' area in a blue state, and I started showing up to local democratic party stuff last year, and at 40 have been the youngest person there by at least a decade, usually 2-3 decades most of the time.

Even if you live in a blue district, showing up will do a lot more than you think.
If you are:
-a leftist
-who does not like the DNC
-and lives in a red district
-that is rural or suburban

I encourage you to check out your local Dems and maybe get involved. Red districts are often ignored by national Dems; you may have more influence to push left locally than you think.

"Research would tell us that most ICE agents entered into these jobs in part because they want approval, and they want to affirm their masculinity in public," said sociologist Nicole Bedera. "An ICE watch works by surrounding these people ... with disapproval."
Observing ICE agents is 'a de-escalation tactic,' sociologist says
The federal government has accused ICE watchers of breaking the law. Sociologist Nicole Bedera said ICE watchers have science behind them. She spoke with MPR News host Clay Masters.

Second Harvest is one of the suppliers for Joyce Uptown Foodshelf (joyceuptownfoodshelf.org), who I volunteer with. Joyce is referring shoppers to a local church making deliveries to those who can't leave their homes. Whoever you donate money or time to in the chain, they're helping South Mpls.

Washington State residents: they’re trying to pull online age verification bullshittery here too. This bill would require people to upload their ID/credit card to view online adult content. You can complain to your reps here: app.leg.wa.gov/pbc/bill/2112

increasingly convinced preventing americans from getting their little packages is the thing that will take this government down
How bad are tariffs going?

I paid for $32 of shaving cream from Canada. Unique stuff I’ve used for years, nothing like it in US. Small family business.

UPS guy came to my door today with box and said I have to pay additional $120 before he can hand it to me.

That makes it 5x more expensive!!! 🤯

I suspect talks about other ways for groups of states to do things without paying attention to the Feds are quietly going on.

Firing on Fort Sumter isn't always necessary for things to happen.
IT'S OFFICIAL: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York State, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and New York City have formed the Northeast Public Health Collaborative.

The collaborative will issue their own vaccine recommendations and coordinate public health efforts.

I can't imagine how confused a kid would be if you tried to sit then down to explain that a rightwing politics podcaster was shot in the middle of attacking trans people and POC and it's OK to feel sad and confused about that
In hardly any time at all, footage of the horrifying moment when a bullet hit conservative activist Charlie Kirk ricocheted across the internet. Here are some pointers on how to talk to your kids about what’s going on.

The largest SNAP cuts in history went into effect yesterday, eliminating or drastically cutting food assistance for millions of Americans.

And it’s all to pay for more tax cuts that primarily benefit the super-rich.

Trickle-down economics isn't just a hoax — it's cruel.
