No, I 100% agree that computer RPGs these days have too much handholding. I, too, yearn for the days of being able to spend hours crafting my perfect build from hundreds of available options, only to discover that it mathematically cannot survive the mandatory rat fight portion of the first dungeon.

So a lot of us woke up this morning to an email informing us that OMENS OF CHAOS (have you pre-ordered yet?) had been pushed from February 2026 to April 2026. People are understandably confused, not thrilled, and expressing both these things to me. So here's what I can say.

As we move into a major shopping weekend, filled with sales and exciting offers, I wanted to remind y'all about OMENS OF CHAOS, the first print Magic the Gathering novel since 2019!
Woah. It was definitely a miss for me but I didn’t think it was that much of a miss for everyone. With the sheer volume of Superdrops these days though it’s really hard to justify a bunch of reskins that aren’t tied to a larger UB release.
We care a lot about the worlds we get to celebrate, and Secret Lair x Monster Hunter didn’t quite come together the way it should have. We hear you, so we’re heading back to the drawing board to rework this Superdrop. More to come.

It took almost 30 years to get a space to just play Magic casually during Magic events, hopefully it doesn’t take another 30 for this 😅
There will be literal songs written about the first Magic event organizer to recognize our desire for "literally just a big open room we can go to after hours where we can simply play more magic together" and do something about it.
This free play space is at the convention site, it is staffed, it is ventilated, and it is open until midnight.
I wish magic events had this.

I genuinely can’t remember if I watched this as it aired. I was in college so probably not. Likely I binged it in grad school? Anyway it’s a fun show but I can absolutely see people not getting into random cartoons, no matter the buzz.
The wildest thing to me about TLA is how many people are saying they didn’t watch the show before
