Imagine, if you will, that NASA updated its website to suggest gravity might not exist, prompting CalTech and CERN to release statements saying, "With great sadness, we can no longer recommend listening to NASA."

This is what's happening in epidemiology.

This is a new and dire development in the ongoing American constitutional crisis. The voters, Congress, and, yes, the U.S. military must all now be more vigilant than at any time in our modern history.

This article is a gift from me to you.
The proposed "peace" settlement it describes is a gift from Triump to Putin. @timothysnyder.bsky.social and many others say this settlement must be opposed for the good of Ukraine, Europe, the U.S. and the world.

@markhertling.bsky.social writes, “the administration’s desire for diplomacy is admirable. The desire to end a war is understandable.” Does the administration intend to end the war on just terms (note: not by this agreement) or simply hand Russia a victory? I fear it’s the latter.

Excellent 🧵
It's important to understand what this ad does and why it is so threatening to the Trump admin. It gets to social identity theory, which posits that we have many identities, and the one which is salient in a given context will dictate how we think/behave in a particular situation. 1/

So much for the Trump administration's alleged concern abt antisemitism. New Coast Guard (under DHS) policy now says swastikas and nooses are no longer considered hate symbols but just "potentially divisive." Coast Guard/DHS Officials refuse to respond.

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

Q: Why wait for Congress to release the Epstein files? Why not just do it now?

Trump saying “But he knew nothing about it” about Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Jamal Khashoggi’s murder is as big a lie as if Trump said he knew nothing about the murders of the at least 83 people on 22 vessels allegedly carrying drugs from South America to the U.S. Murder is not “things happen.”
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."
