The only way to solve traffic congestion is to make active and public transport better, so people have a real alternative to driving. The Suir Road junction upgrade is a step in the right direction.

My reaction to the 2025 Article 17 Report on the state of Ireland's habitats and species.

While some species are doing well, the overall state of habitats and freshwater ecosystems is not good.

Celebrating the derogation extension isn't a good look by govt.

Thanks to Thomas Lawrance and CorkBeo for reporting my comments on An Coimisiún Pleanála overturning local (very local!) decisions on planning.

There's something incoherent about a national planning authority meddling at this level, while the government blows hard about infrastructure delivery.

Thousands of commuters stuck in the past day.

The #Luas Green line being down is a prime lesson for this Government to prioritise public transport. We need investment into many modes of sustainable public transport so people aren't stuck in cars when one mode of public transport goes down.

This is good news for several reasons.
First, for pedestrians - there is no safe access right now from Dolphin Road to Davitt Road. No crossing for kids going to GAA training at Good Counsel. No crossing for people going to catch the Luas.
In Drimnagh, the council is rolling on with plans to remake the Suir Road junction. The plan is to start construction next summer on work to make the junction safer for pedestrians and cyclists, and less congested for buses, Luases, and private-vehicle drivers.

Government must act now to properly fund farmers to protect water quality and secure a sustainable future for Irish agriculture.
