I've been seeing many posts saying "no kings!" Meaning, of course, that America isn't supposed to have a king. We do seem to have a bunch of lesser nobility, Dukes, Queens, Barons, that sort of thing. Yes, the Constitution prohibits noble titles, but for practical purposes we still have them. /1

It’s why the reactionary freaks and the eugenicists hate her and are so intent on portraying her as stupid and a DEI hire: she cuts through their obvious bullshit in a way that calls out their hypocrisy and discomforts the heroic fantasy they have self constructed for themselves.
She is brilliant. But most liberals in prominent roles are very intelligent. What's different is that Jackson does not seem obsessed with seeming reasonable/bipartisan/moderate/civil ...the various code words for adapting to the sensibilities of other elites. She is courageous and principled.
I am so happy we have such a brilliant woman to be filling this role.

I think that the outcome in the NY Mayoral race and the Wisconsin Supreme Court race both show that people power CAN beat the political money machine. That should give us all hope, and the motivation to work for the government we want.

Any gang of freaks can come and grab you and say they are ICE. Police are supposed to have badges and uniforms, and not wear masks, for this exact reason, for accountability, for public safety.
Not an original point but worth saying again - there is not a single element in this picture that identifies any of these folks as law enforcement agents. No badges, no uniforms, no vests. Out of context it just looks like a bunch of random guys are kidnapping a mayoral candidate.
