At the JFed GA, claims about Holocaust education and antisemitism were used to explain away outrage over Israel’s genocide in Gaza. The story of Jacob and Esau uncovers what the Torah teaches about responsibility and the possibility of transformation.

Just a few weeks ago, Batya was speaking at 92Y alongside Kathy E. Manning, Yehuda Kurtzer, James Kirchick and Bret Stephens. I'm guessing she's spinning up a book tour about her upcoming book. If and when you see other institutions choosing to platform her, please remember this exchange.

“Do not fear” is a motif throughout the Hebrew Bible. It is on us to control our fears and, in the words of the sages, to fear God. This doesn’t mean fear a man in the sky. It means to recognize our own limitations, to not be reactive, and to put righteousness before a desire for perceived safety.
I have been screaming this to the heavens for years and it’s lovely to see more people noticing: BEING safe is a right, FEELING safe is between you and your therapist. And the demand to FEEL safe is constantly weaponized to deprive other people of their real, actual safety.
One thing the NYC mayoral race underscored for me is how easily the phrase "I don't feel safe" can be weaponized. It's an argument I would hesitate ever to use again, even for a good cause. I hope we can all agree that we have the right to BE safe. Maybe we should leave it at that.

This is the facility that I and many others have been protesting. We’ve been hit, thrown, gassed, and shot with pepper bullets but none of that holds a candle to what is being done to people *in* the actual facility.

Read this thread. Don’t look away. Keep your eyes and the pressure on Broadview.
A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

The rabbis of the Talmud teach us that "the actions of our ancestors are signs for us to follow." Like Abraham welcoming strangers into his home, like Sarah feeding the needy, we, too, are taught to embody the virtues of God to provide sustainable living for all.

Jews differ on both Zionism and Mamdani
