Part of the shibboleth, too, is that in the underlying narrative of Jews as deserving this particular place just for themselves due to the Holocaust, and, in tandem, America’s righteousness in supporting its existence as a continuation of the America-as-liberator myth of WW2. 1/

The rabbis of the Talmud teach us that "the actions of our ancestors are signs for us to follow." Like Abraham welcoming strangers into his home, like Sarah feeding the needy, we, too, are taught to embody the virtues of God to provide sustainable living for all.
