Sorry for the sad 1st #ThursJay birb post from me :( Lots of stellar jays around due neighbors feeding peanuts / separately netted a blueberry plant, one day found a jay snared by the net and passed before we could rescue. Tossed the netting forever and bought this pin in remembrance of Blueberry.

Leaving Egypt today, standard tourist things were amazing and our guide was amazing as well. They really are a great place to visit. We traveled with Archeological Paths and were also on the Jaz Senator Nile Boat on a 10-day "Essence of Egypt" tour. Here are a few photos of the 6k I did yesterday 🥵

Like half of a hallway taken up by 4' glass walls labeled pretty permanently "EgyptAir Business Class Lounge" across from F Gate duty free shop, has a counter with coffee and snacks you can see through the glass. It just looks janky with all the hallway noise and lack of actual space. The chairs inside are close and dense.

What a great welcome photo to Egypt, a Hooded Crow with the pyramid in the background. Didn't know but the largest pyramid's actual name is the Pyramid of Khufu. Sorry the preview doesn't show the pyramid!

Close-up of a beautiful Atlantic Puffin at the beautiful Bjargtangar Lighthouse located on the cliffs of Látrabjarg in NW Iceland. It marks the westernmost point of Iceland & westernmost building of Europe. The cliffs are popular for Puffins and the weather was great.

Close up of atlantic puffin looking left. It's outer beak is dark orange, then has a band of yellow, and then a black triangle basically near the head. The head is mostly white with a wide racing band of black over the top. The eyes are dark, and has an odd triangle kind of shape around it as if the lower eyelid was large and the upper is small. There are tiny bright orange "cheeks" where the beak opens that look odd but are small and actually easy to ignore if you're not looking for them.

Another PNW pika, this time way closer to Mt. Hood, Kinnickinnick Lake / Campground near Parkdale. These Pikas were very suspicious and watched is the whole time. Thankfully I bought/brought an extender with me!
