On this Trans Day of Remembrance, I hope Albertans will remember that trans kids and teens are living breathing humans who just want to be themselves, without fear of hate and discrimination. Demonizing kids merely to score political points in some weird culture war is craven and cruel.

Even though I want to see these Cons lose even more, I do not want to work a winter election. The Alberta General Election was my first, and surprisingly not last, in November 2004. We had to pre-drill sign holes into the ground frost. 🥶
This is the kind of political theatre Canadians are having to deal with. 😡

By using s33 pre-emptively, the UCP is not simply admitting that their laws are breaching Charter rights. (Governments have done that before.)
By foregoing judicial review, they are further admitting that their laws cannot be justified in a democratic society.
