The current US administration has broken US law, violated the US constitution and violated international law.

They are probably trying to figure out a way to violate the Prime Directive next.

Folks want things to go back to how they were. Thing is, this is always how they were for Blacks and Indigenous people. What we are seeing is the erosion of white privilege for anyone who is opposed to the regime. We need to go forward to how things should be.

Until white folks are willing to deal with the fact that the US was built on stolen land with stolen labor, and that minoritized peoples have been murdered with impunity for centuries here, the murdering will continue.
Use the anger you’re feeling now to get caught up and keep fighting it.

As I was putting on my unicorn costume in the Home Depot parking lot, a Latina driving by stopped. She only stopped thanking me to ask if she could take a picture.

Later, a load of elementary school kids on a bus drummed on the windows in support.

I think we should call ICE and CBP "Welfare for Wankers."

(I have trouble remembering it is CBP and not CBT.)

My latest bad idea for an antifa fundraiser is Gritty (the hockey mascot) butt plugs.

Because if/when ICE goes into Philly, folks are going to need something to ram.

Random life tip-Indian grocery stores are great places to buy dried beans, grains and gluten-free flours. The turnover is usually high so the products are fresh. Prices are usually low.

Spend your money at stores owned by minoritized people.

I am more than a little tempted to make a t-shirt for my inflatable unicorn costume that says, "I was told there would be virgins?"

I can't believe this is still relevant. James Madison.

The States, then, being parties to the constitutional compact, and in their sovereign capacity, it follows of necessity that there can be no tribunal above their authority to decide, in the last resort,

I shared this with my brother, and he decided that Garfield gloating over Dilbert's grave was insufficient. Since apparently nothing is too petty for my family, please feast your eyes on his work of spite.

There are many ways to resist. One of my favourites is Citroen moving the mark on the oil dipsticks of trucks they were forced to make for the Wehrmacht. This meant the trucks were running without enough oil, which made them break down randomly.

Visited The Walters Museum yesterday for the first time in years. Was thrilled that my old friend Sir Galashad is still by the store.

At today's protest, a woman was handing out whistles with strings to everyone. Brilliant idea! People used them right away to make noise.

I hope they continue to carry them, and blow them to melt ICE.

Things 4th grade me knew about the future;

1) I'd retire at 55, probably to the moon.
2) We'd have solved racism, sexism, etc. by the time I was an adult.
3) Bionics would take care of any health issues I had.

The future is disappointing.

On a personal level, what I find most distressing about the current situation is that, when I saw the news last night before bed, I just sighed and went to sleep.

I miss my ability to be outraged.

People asking strikers if Starbucks is open is so clueless. Yes, there have been a lot of closings due to lack of staff and supplies. Announcing you don't care about how workers are treated is more offensive than crossing picket lines.

Spent the morning on a Starbucks picket line. No, I don't work there, but being union means showing up for others.

We can't fight billionaires without each other.

My mother had polio. While she was able to walk without crutches due to a then experimental surgery, it affected her until the day she died.

I hate shots, but I'll take any vaccine they'll give me. I do not want to have my life limited by a preventable disease.

It is the time of the year when I must listen to "Fairytale of New York" incessantly in order to counteract all of the crap Christmas music.

When riding in Great Smokey Mountains NP about a month ago, I saw an attempted elk mating. The male had leafy branches woven into his antlers, and was prancing in front of the cow elk like an idiot.

He was up and in, she walked off. I certainly didn't have seeing elk dick in my vacation plans.

Just back from 2 weeks in Scandinavia. Had no idea how bad the ambient stress in the US was until I got away from it.

Feel like I can barely breath in the US.

It has been 40 years since I was in Basic Training, but I still remember the classes on our obligation to disobey illegal orders.

I am not surprised the Dems caved. The rich donate to both parties, after all.

But it still feels like a sticker punch to the gut.

I live in the middle of the largest concentration of data centers in the world. All of the homes and apartments around here can get fiber. Due to a contract my complex signed in the 90s, not only do I pay fiber costs for cable internet, I'm forced to pay for TV.
