Masha Gessen recently dubbed Trump's invasion of Venezuela and the murder of an innocent American citizen by his paramilitary force "An Assault on Hope." To which we simply say, Get the fuck out of here, LOSER. We're Americans, and we take orders from no king. Not now, not ever. #NoKings #FuckICE

Joined my first Freedom Friday protest this evening with the Brooklyn Resisters. 30 minutes of hanging around the entrance to the Prospect Expressway with some patriotic Brooklynites. Can’t begin to tell you how good it feels to be around decent people during these dark times. #FuckICE

Also, I wonder if people get how strange it is that Bovino keeps showing up on all these raids.

He's one of the top-most CBP officials there is. It'd be like if NYPD Commish Tisch kept putting on body armor to do small drug raids in NYC all the time.

Lays bare that this is all about spectacle.
I always thought the term "cosplaying" was overused until ICE/CBP started showing up everywhere. Look at this guy, does he think it's Fallujah? (It's a high school in Minneapolis).

I know "nothing ever changes" is part psychological defence and part easiest hedge bet, because it is so often true, but people should think before sharing their "everything will always be awful" take. First, it adds to collective depression, but also it becomes a personally disempowering mantra.

I happen to know quite a bit about Venezuelan oil.

TL;DR it’s hard to extract, notoriously investor-endangering, isn’t needed (global crude is oversupplied to the tune of 3.3 min bpd) and isn’t easily refined (it’s too dense so always sold at a heavy discount)

Venezuela has the world’s most oil: Why doesn’t it earn more from exports?
Venezuela holds the world's largest proven oil reserves, more than five times more than the United States.

I never knew I could loathe Facebook more than I do. I feel like I’m being served up content from the deepest darkest corners of hell now.

Filed under “not all heros wear capes.”
Around two dozen car/vans have sped out of the garage, with NYPD officers clearing the path. One guys tries to stop them, NYPD officers come chasing.

The Soldiers' and Sailors' Arch at Grand Army Plaza was built in 1899 to honor veterans of the Civil War. I can't think of a better place to march to defend this country from a new form of evil threatening to tear the country apart. #NoKings #Brooklyn

🚨🚨HERE IT IS: We got Trump’s birthday note to Jeffrey Epstein that the President said doesn’t exist.

I feel like this could be titled Effect and Cause. Cause? Penis rocket boy’s wedding. Effect? Democratic socialist mayor. Good job @nytimes.com, good job.

Opinion | Despite my endorsement, New York City Democrats rejected a spiteful, score-settling sexual harasser who lied about Covid deaths and currently serves as Benjamin Netanyahu's defense attorney. I have never been more fearful for my party's future.

THIS JUST HAPPENED: Brad Lander walked through the fire, got burned, and came back with a fucking gasoline can.

ICE arrested him — now he’s escorting migrants right past them, again. Most politicians wouldn’t show up. He showed out.

Reading this, I couldn't help but recall how the editorial board stated a few months ago that they'd be publishing fewer pieces, and devote more space to columns and op-eds. They really should have stuck to that plan.
dismal read: NYT comes out aggressively for Cuomo, not because they believe in the ghoul they called on to resign as governor, but because they really loathe Mamdani and lack the courage of what they purport to be their convictions, which would be to endorse Lander

Was also thinking of "There's gonna be an even bigger parade when your big fat fascist ass is gone" and "This sign is too small to list all ways Trump is a pathetic weak little pansy boy."

The kids had fun doing the crown though, so l've shelved those ideas for later. #nokings
