So I have fallen in love with rosemary as a cake flavour after making that bundt, and am trying an experiment this evening - a chocolate rosemary bundt. I'm using below recipe as a base, but replacing the hot water in the batter with rosemary-infused milk. 🧑🏻‍🔬

I can report back that the cake is delicious! The rosemary flavour from the infused milk isn't like anything I've ever had in a dessert before, and I love it. Definitely recommend for holiday baking.

He slaps the side of his truck and says “I’d like to go to Washington and bloody my knuckles on some of THEM Nazis!”

“Hell yeah!” I reply, and we part in good company.

GODDAMN I love New Mexico.

“Yep!” I call back.
The old man raises both fists and for a moment, your narrator thinks she is about to get into a fistfight with a geriatric racist. The thought passes across my brain “Welp. Time to make Shep proud.”

Then he says “Hell yeah!”

So I’m getting into my truck at the grocery store and a voice yells “Hey! Young lady!”

I am 48 so I did not turn, but then I see wild waving out a truck window. Old man straight off Duck Dynasty, full camo, beard to his sternum. He says “Your bumper sticker! Read books, punch Nazis?”

And it’s a terrible, and terribly racist, idea to write off Africa as irrelevant to Cdn economic strength. Diversifying away from the US (if that’s the goal) means taking every opportunity. If the gov’t lacks capacity to do so, maybe Carney should’ve thought of that before his austerity budget.

Mark Carney has defined Canada’s overall problem in a very narrow, very particular way. It excludes politics, social policy, education policy. It excludes gender and human rights, and the environment. These variables aren’t in his econometric model of the economy. They should be.

No PM, who swept to power as women abandoned his main opponent, should want this headline.

PM Goldman Sachs has very bad political instincts.

"Mark Carney, backing away from a key international priority of his Liberal predecessors, says his government does not have a feminist foreign policy."

Canada's view on Africa also bears reporting.

Star Trek: First Contact was released 29 years ago today.

We'll be soon halfway between the film's release and First Contact Day (2063). 😄

This is what I've been doing since the change - actually unsubscribing. It was easier to ignore when everything was siloed in "promotions". I bet there are a bunch of companies not so happy with Google at the moment because of this change.
I turned off the smart features in Gmail and now they're like "can't tell what is promotions or social anymore unless you turn it back on!" so now it's unusable OR I have to actually unsubscribe to all the junk I'm subscribed to 🤣.

This is not a peace plan. It is a proposal that weakens Ukraine and divides America from Europe, preparing the way for a larger war in the future. In the meantime, it benefits unnamed Russian and American investors, at the expense of everyone else.

This is what is happening.
We spent a year investigating billionaires for @washingtonpost.com.

We found: the wealthiest 100 Americans gave $1.1 billion to influence the 2024 elections — 140x more than they did in 2000. And almost all of that giving boosted Republicans.

2) they pre-date the age of social media

3) they exist because we have not addressed medical sexism and specifically obstetric violence

And also the physical working conditions of those professions have often changed radically. Open-plan or shared offices vs. private offices make a HUGE difference in the functioning of neurodivergent employees (ask me how I know...). And how many folks have fully private offices anymore?
Also certain classes of people could self-select into professions that were compatible with florid unmanaged ADHD, in jobs that essentially don't exist anymore.
I keep saying this but it’s at least very interesting that many doctors didn’t think ADHD persisted into adulthood until you couldn’t buy Ritalin over the counter anymore and most people stopped smoking.

yeah tbh I’d really rather be on ADHD meds and NOT have to develop a two pack a day cigarette habit as someone who’s never smoked before just to function
I guess I can drink twelve coffees a day while chain smoking if you want me to do this in a socially acceptable manner, I just don't see how that's better for my physical or mental health than Vyvanse, y'know?
