Lack of political will in London is perhaps most starkly visible in inaction around London's most #DangerousJunctions

NEW: INACTION CONTINUES ON DANGEROUS JUNCTIONS

📊The latest data published today, shows a picture of inaction from @mayoroflondon.bsky.social, TfL and local councils, when it comes to making junctions safe for cycling...

This. This right here is years of long hard campaigning by @londoncycling.bsky.social that saved lives. Huge kudos to ex staffer Charlie Lloyd and current staffer Tom Bogdanowicz for their work instigating and maintaining this campaign through to now and beyond. #EndLorryDanger #RoadSafetyWeek

This is an absolutely shockingly powerful simple read: www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...
Reform's rhetoric on immigration is hateful, shameful. Seeing Labour effectively follow it almost as much so. Far too many Britons are chosing hate over hope, selfishness over collective society.

This cracking commentary by @francesryan.bsky.social nails my views on politics of hopelessness. When people feel their lives, hopes, dreams are just getting worse & worse, they turn to authoritarian, populist, fascist leaders. Reform & billionaire media owners thrive off this downward spiral...

Not sure I agree these 16 'critical safety issues' for designing for active travel all as stringent as needed, particularly vehicle speed only kicking in when 85% of vehicles on road doing 30+mph But glad @ategov.bsky.social rounded these up & updated them: www.gov.uk/government/p... Very helpful.

The far right anger of Reform folks, the bitterness of their pound shop racism, the idea what little we have needs protecting from folks like my parents, who came here as refugees & built lives here, the idea London & England has fallen rather than grown. They deserve contempt & ridicule...
Yay. Priceless. The right column at the right time. And a gleefully English two fingers to the haters.

Ah yes, but all roads justice resources should be directed at those evil scofflaw cyclists running down Visually Impaired people at bus stops nonstop everywhere. Or put another way, when law is updated for cycling and driving to match on causing death will killer cyclist sentences go down or up? Hmm

This is what happens when politicians act bravely and deliver progressive change. Notable from the news story where other metro mayors are still deliberating and delaying on such measures, they still have illegal air quality issues. Cough cough Manchester & Andy Burnham, Liverpool & Birmingham...
184 years earlier than predicted, London has met the legal limits for toxic NO2 for the first time.

This historic milestone proves that bold action like expanding ULEZ works, protecting children’s health and giving millions cleaner air to breathe.

What is your town centre 'for' in this day & age? What does it offer you that the internet can't? And why can't politicians see that if everyone in your town is struggling, the centre will no matter how many giant deckchairs you put out? Town centres aren't a sodding mystery, despite most...
The thing about Labour levelling up and giving money to ‘smarten up town centres” is that you can paint a shop all you like but if people have no money to spend in a shop because their bills are too high and shopkeepers can’t afford the rent then your town centre will remain desolate

The far right from both sides of the pond hates London & our Mayor. Why would that be?
Is it because they're racists who can't stand the way Londoners generally just get on with each other?
Love, tolerance and diversity > racist, fascist hate.
Trump to the UN: "I have to say, I look at London where you have a terrible mayor -- terrible terrible mayor -- and it's been so changed, so changed. Now they want to go to Sharia Law ... both their immigration and their suicidal energy ideas will be the death of Western Europe."

Absolutely brilliant to open the Royal Docks Corridor this morning.

The GLA & Newham teams have transformed this dangerous industrial road into a wonderful new public space - complete with a fab cycle lane, crossings, new lighting, beautiful planting and flood resilience.
What an extraordinary transformation on the #RoyalDocksCorridor! A 4-lane racetrack for cars becomes a street for people. We attended a celebration event today with the project managers, builders, councillors, Mayor of Newham, and @willnorman.co.uk in attendance. Congratulations to all involved! 🎉
