again, Democratic leadership has sucked shit for years. But that is NOT THE STORY. That’s the story the NYTimes sells over and over and over to an anxious PMC class. It does not explain what is happening, The conservative billionaire take-over of American news media does help explain.
kavanaugh stop
My constituent, Wilmer, was mauled by an ICE attack dog despite the fact that, as he has consistently explained, he was not resisting arrest or trying to flee—his wife and young children, all U.S. citizens, were forced to watch helplessly as Wilmer was violently attacked and dragged away.

One of the best feelings in life is that feeling of frenzied infatuation you have at the beginning of a new creative project.

Roberts should be viewed as worse than Taney (or at least more devious and lying about what he was going to do).

The Supreme Court needs absolutely massive reform, shape-shiftingly huge to-the-studs reform.

For gods sake, everyone running for office: WHAT IS YOUR PLAN.
In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court ruled that the constitution is actually just one big paper bag test
The Supreme Court just handed Texas Republicans at least 2 more House seats & possibly up to 5 despite the state GOP explicitly justifying their remap based on an unconstitutional use of race in redistricting.

Unsurprising from this court, and it's a bad sign for the upcoming Voting Rights Act case

Scathing dissent from Justice Kagan:

"[T]his Court reverses that judgment based on its perusal, over a holiday weekend, of a cold paper record. We are a higher court than the District Court, but we are not a better one when it comes to making such a fact-based decision."

If we're not at war, Pete Hegseth is a murderer. If we are at war, Pete Hegseth is still a murderer. He's a murderer. And you don't need to go to The Hague to hold him accountable because there are perfectly good, American laws AGAINST MURDER.

Pete Hegseth Should Be Charged With Murder
No matter how you look at the strikes on alleged “drug boats”—as acts of war or attacks on civilians—Hegseth has committed a crime and should be prosecuted.

It’s murder. The newspapers should say that it’s murder. We all should say it was murder.
Striking a boat full of unarmed civilians is murder. The first strike was murder. The followup strike was also murder.

We're not at war. It's not a "war crime". Everyone involved, including the POTUS, SecDef, the Admiral who relayed it and the person who pressed the button needs to be on trial.

why only one?
Logged on to Reddit to see someone on r/confessions basically just saying that they are the worst person, and its honestly really sad to see someone just emote into the void like that when they are so utterly mistaken. I am the worst person, not them. There can be only one.

it’s well past understanding that it’s here (ie, American authoritarianism); and whether it eventually gets defined historically as fascism or as popularist 21st century reemergence of Redemption or as retrograde white popularism or something else: It Happened Here. And it was abetted by so many.

lack of one basic fairly-good grab-and-go nation-wide sandwich option does actually seem like it has political implications. most particularly in the Biden-inflation narrative.
it is very strange to me that Americans just cannot do packaged, relatively cheap sandwiches. they're fucking awful here. (handmade sandwiches are often great, but, like, the £2.75 Tesco's 'good but not great' sandwich is a missing piece)
It is a huge problem to me that sandwiches in the US are both delicious and stupidly expensive.

There are days I miss a prawn mayo or tuna sandwich meal deal from Boots or WH Smith.

Emmanuel, a 15-year-old with intellectual disabilities, wandered away from his mom’s fruit stand in October.

She reported him missing to Houston police. But instead of reuniting them, the city turned him over to ICE.

“They’re failing all of us,” his mom said.

NEW: When RFK Jr. first told Trump that Tylenol might cause autism, the president wanted to tweet out a warning. Kennedy told him not to do that. There was nuance, and the drug companies would push back. “I don’t give a shit about that,” Trump responded. www.theatlantic.com/magazine/202...

But to be honest, one needs to understand the difference between sharing a photo just to your family & friends….. and sharing a photo to ‘social media’?

are folks at NYT not aware what it means to post to social media about personal passions?
