Archivist and all around pop culture nerd. Plus I like to write about archives and archivists in pop culture! I'm a real catch! I can probably talk about other things. Maybe.

Abolish ICE!

Abolish ICE. Stop trying to work with people who could care less about the lives of anyone but themselves and how much money they can line their pockets with.

What good are you if you think chiding us like children is an effective form of leadership? They are executing people in broad daylight.
Americans must be eyes wide open that blocking the DHS funding bill will not shut down ICE.

ICE is now sitting on a massive slush fund it can tap, whether or not we pass a funding bill.
Federal agents cannot murder people in broad daylight and face zero consequences.

I will NOT support the DHS bill as it stands.

The DHS bill needs to be split off from the larger funding package before the Senate—Republicans must work with us to do that.

I’ll keep fighting to rein in DHS and ICE.

New— I wrote about the amazing success of the Greg Bovino Bitch Fund Benefiting Immigrant Rights in Minnesota (more than $18k raised just from bluesky!!!), how people far and wide are inspired by the fighting spirit, and why I feel it’s my duty as a journalist to use my platform for material change:
Calling Greg Bovino a "b*tch" raises thousands for Minn. immigrant rights
Spearheaded by The Handbasket, $18k+ in donations were made to spite the CBP commander.

My partner and I were talking about the current state of things over dinner, and I made a reference to the Genesis “Land of Confusion” music video (1986) that I absolutely loved when I was younger. Watching it for the first time in decades, I’m struck by how timely it feels

this reminds me that there needs to be more #archives merch out in the world. (besides my awesome #zines, of course: etsy.me/4np2yGa)

Pins, patches, tshirts, totes, temp tattoos, whatever.

get the good word of archives out there. remind people that history is vital and worthy of funding & labor!
I really need SAA to make the August 2025 embroidery art by Rachel Searcy available as a patch for my denim jacket

We've expanded our state's $2.5 million available for disaster assistance to Lewis and Pierce counties.

I urge affected Washingtonians to apply. We are working to apply for federal assistance for more extensive relief.

Wake Up Dead Man is very good! I don't care about trilogies or franchises but I wouldn't say no to a Benoit Blanc movie every few years if Rian Johnson has a story to tell.

Coulda done without Mila Kuniz though.

When we say "no, everything hasn't been digitized," I need you to understand that we really mean is that virtually nothing has been digitized. This is because the realm of primary sources that historians use is incomprehensibly large.

Rot in hell to the three Dems who crossed party lines. You could've killed this bill but instead sided with fascists. Fuck you!
Just now, a national trans healthcare felony ban for youth has passed the US House, with 10 year prison terms.

3 Dems crossed party lines to vote to jail providers.

4 GOP crossed party lines to vote against.

It is not expected to pass the Senate, where Dems hold filibuster power.

Story to come.

Caught up on #TADC and *SPOILERS* I haven't seen anyone really talk about how Pomni's interaction with the fish foreshadows the entire episode.

The treasure chest set up, the "brother" who only tells lies, and the contents of the treasure chest are the episode in a nutshell.
