I mean Fedora and other Linux distros are removing 32-bit support too. Considering valve has it's own linux distro too it makes sense. 2038 isn't that far away either

Why can't it be treated like books, where if you publish a book you give a copy to the national library etc? They'd rather have old games die than anyone dare to enjoy a product they no longer make money with

one thing I dislike about using Unreal Engine via the Epic Launcher is that it keeps installing EasyAnticheat which messes with Kernel-Mode Hardware-Enforced Stack Protection even though I don't have any games installed through Epic

It always confuses me when people go and defend corporations as if they are their own personal friends and as if their identity is reliant on it and get angry if someone disagrees with said corpos business practices

Pretty much this. Gamedevs are notoriously underpaid compared to peers of similar skill, even now. And that's if they still have their job in this time of mass layoffs.
None of these price increases will actually help the people making the games. It hasn't before and it shows no signs of doing so.

You want to know if gpt/llms are useful for gamedev? Look at the GDC talks on AI. Where are the retrospectives from the teams shipping successful games with the order of magnitude efficiency bonus we've been promised? I've scoured the schedule and I don't see them.

My Grandpas old Kodak Retina IIa, it seems to still work but I haven't shot any film with it yet. My plan is to use it on my cousins wedding so even though our grandpa isn't alive anymore he can still be there in a way and gift her the developed pictures as a wedding gift

I signed up for a Japanese class that will start in October. I am looking forward to one day being able to converse in japanese and watch/read japanese media in its original language. And since I want to train karate in okinawa eventually, it will make that experience easier as well
