The singular and cheerful life
of any flower
in anyone's garden
or any still unowned field--
if there are any--
catches me
by the heart,
by its color

by its obedience
to the holiest of laws:
be alive
until you are not.

Science describes accurately from outside,
poetry describes accurately from inside.
Science explicates,
poetry implicates.
Both celebrate what they describe.

start small.
let the driver merge,
let the cashier breathe,
let the stranger’s silence mean something
other than indifference.

“Snow was falling,
so much like stars
filling the dark trees
that one could easily imagine
its reason for being was nothing more
than prettiness.”

Genuinely think the poetry community is amazing. For the last few years I’ve been able to write and get my poetry published as well as publishing other poets. People can have so many different opinions but I often see such a kindness from other poets which keeps me going ❤️❤️❤️ #poetry

What are the best ways to learn about poetry? How are you all doing it? Let's exchange some tips!

Personally, I love reading and writing as much as possible and talk about it to different people.

was once a part of three.
Three became two, two became five.
The now they don't recognize
now to murmur in their tea.
