A roaring fire beckons us with flame and heat, the perfect enticement to open our hearts and share the paths we’ve walked.
An ancient ritual that forms bonds between friends and newcomers, enlarging the quilt of many colors with stitches of commonality and empathy. Keep sharing your stories with loved ones or the stranger on the path. You never know how you may impact another life by speaking as well as listening with open ears.
Be well and we will light the fire 🔥 again in February 2026.

I'm sure many others have posted this poem this week but it stood out to me this morning. This Thanksgiving I've been intensely grateful for my family and friends. I've seen people with new eyes. It made me want to dig through my art to find something for the season and for those people.

A frozen bird bath becomes a tiny galaxy, its surface transformed into a deep cobalt cosmos where trapped air bubbles drift like distant stars and newborn planets. Rings and spirals of ice encircle the larger spheres, so they resemble luminous moons with frosted halos, suspended in slow motion. The shallow depth of field turns the sharpest bubbles into bright celestial bodies while the softer ones fade into a milky nebula, giving the impression of looking through a telescope into a radiant, expanding universe made entirely of ice and winter light.

•Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel - highly recommended: partially dystopian story of a life.

•The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood - essential reading, so well written.

•The Vegetarian by Han Kang - shocking, but award winning. Not recommended.
