That thing you don't quite see out of the corner of your eye, the scuttling sound behind you that goes starkly silent when you turn around.

It amuses me that I have thirteen copies of DRACULA DAILY for sale at the bookstore this year.

Can't wait until Saturday. Planning to do the email read along as well as listening to RE: DRACULA again.

What if we had the story of Medusa all wrong? What if she were a beauty harassed incessantly by gods and mortals alike, who pleaded with Athena for help? So Athena gave her snakes for hair to bite groping hands, and a gaze that will turn predators to stone. The free garden statuary is a bonus.

The AIDS activists in the 80s danced their hearts out on the weekends. The dancing was the reason for the activism, coming together as a community and celebrating queer joy in the face of darkness.

We need trans joy now more than ever.

If the revolution doesn’t have dancing, I’m not coming.

If you're hitting #Boskone this year, make sure you visit the dealers' room and spend some money.

I stopped doing the show in part because it was a poor ROI -- all expense and no profit -- so don't neglect the indie creatives, make it worth their while to be there.

PSA:

1. If you are not silly, it is vital you become silly

2. If you are silly, you must stay silly

2. If you used to be silly but have stopped, you must make all efforts to return to silliness

Crime fiction writer and warrior for abused children Andrew Vachss said something that has stuck with me since I first read it. (I'm paraphrasing). You can sympathize with how someone becomes a monster, without sympathizing with the monster.
