my most woke opinion is that about 70% of the QTs of this are actually reactionary
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

It's very "Boston Media Mafia" that the Ringer has posted a long feature whose organizing idea is basically: "The Boston Celtics are bad — how could that possibly be?" www.theringer.com/2025/11/14/n...
OK, So What Are the Boston Celtics?
When you mix Mazzulla Ball and a lottery-level roster, the results are decidedly mixed

Maciak, 42, lives in a tiny house where lizards crawl into his kitchen. There's lizards everywhere in there, actually, on every surface. One lizard is on the dining room table reading aloud from the King James Bible but changing parts of it to be more relevant to lizards. Lizards in the toaster, liz

THE BEAST IN ME, which came out yesterday on Netflix, is a mystery show about a New Yorker profile writer who gets IN TOO DEEP with one of her subjects, and it seems far fetched until you read a profile like this where it's like, did you guys do a murder together? Maybe dial that shit back.
you can’t be putting this in the paper (gift link but i do not recommend you use it www.nytimes.com/2025/11/14/s...)

one reason for "elite" as a category of analysis is to account for this flavor of thing. Nuzzi may not herself be a titan of industry or heiress to a ketchup fortune or whatever, but she's getting the impunity treatment because she's invited to those people's parties
I haven’t even made it past the headline but lol

A cool thing about E. Gordon Gee is that he gutted WVU like a fish before the federal government was even exerting financial pressure on universities to do so. www.chronicle.com/article/univ...

Couple weeks ago, I saw one college dude approaching another college dude, and the one dude, smiling, starting saying, "uh oh, oh no, oh shit, bad optics. I can't be seen with this guy, BAD OPTICS BAD OPTICS," and they bro-hugged and started chatting, and I thought, ok, this is positive masculinity.

it's good that there'll be a formal and (hopefully) functional archive of old Vines, but for Dorsey to do this nearly 10 years after he himself killed Vine and allowed TikTok to swallow up the short-form-video market right after after is, well,

I have a review of Matthew Rhys and Claire Danes' THE BEAST IN ME in the hopper and en route to you soon. But, meantime, if you're looking for a show that does what this show is trying to do but meaningfully better, and that maybe you haven't seen yet: DAMAGES is streaming on hulu right this minute.

MAD MEN dropping its back catalog on Netflix while it was still on the air is an underrated event in the history of the streaming boom, I think.
Hey, look! Something is actually being *added* to the HBO Max library. And it's Mad Men finally in 4K!

Kind of crazy that evidence is mounting that the world is run by a group of rapists, pedophiles, and men convinced of women’s inmate natural inferiority, and the pundit class is trying to convince us that the real social crisis is that men are victimized and lonely because women have too many jobs.
You just know that “Did Women Ruin the Workplace?” bit would have done NUMBERS in this little clique
Something absolutely perfect about Larry Summers riffing about the scourge of woke cancel culture being unfair to predatory men in a friendly email to his pal JEFFREY EPSTEIN.

Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.
