GOOD NEWS! I’ve just invented the ratcheting open spanner.
BAD NEWS: it’s utterly unworkable.

Is it too early for bed? My body clock seems to think it’s about 11pm.

My planned activity for this afternoon is off and I’m suddenly verr tired. Might have a nap - though I’ve slept decently well the last couple of nights, and I suspect it won’t go so well if I do…

Ah, 9 December: 164th anniversary of the birth of Catherine-Elise Müller, aka Hélène Smith, who communicated with the spirit of Victor Hugo – and with Martians, whose landscapes she painted👇. And was a reincarnation of a Hindu princess, and Marie Antoinette. Obviously

For creative people, enjoying the process is the most anti AI and anti-capitalist thing that we can do.

They keep telling us that only the outcome is important. They have no understanding of enjoying making the thing and what we learn along the way.

They cannot monetise that.

Can’t believe the rotters have taken The Box of Delights off iPlayer. I enjoyed watching it last year. They could have left it on for this.

I so want my bed and then I remember that I have an Amazon delivery supposedly arriving by 10pm. Why did I do this to myself? EARLY NIGHTS ARE FOR WHAT I WAS DESIGNED

I hate these last few days in the countdown to shortest. Less than two weeks to go. Oppressive weight of the year and the dark burdening my mind. Ugh.

Just been reminded I’m giving blood in a couple of weeks. Must get ready. Training program. Lots of fluids and red meat.

The 'What the Papers Say' section of news programmes should be replaced with What the Papers Botched, where the microscopic 'apologies' and corrections buried away on page 23 are openly discussed with each Editor.

What skill did you master that you will never, ever use again?

Calculating and preparing topical creams and unguents in a pharmacy.
What skill did you master that you will never, ever use again?

Switchboard operator and using the telex machine.
Also operating one of those machines at the bank that put the magnetic numbers on the bottom of the cheques (to print the amount the cheque was for).
