Finn is being rained upon.
A black and white cat yells into the camera. He has yellow eyes and we can see his teeth and pink tongue. His whiskers are spread wide and very visible. His nose is a paler pink. He sits atop a covered gas barbecue in my neighbour’s garden. Behind can be seen grass and garden furniture. A leaf intrudes into frame from bottom left.

A whale? Good golly.

I can’t remember my best friend’s birthday. How would I recall those dates?

Thank you! I was drawing a blank.

Form of nosegay/smelling salts? The holes look a bit improvised, but the layered lids suggest such a use.

Crikey, don’t think I could do the three stone ages. Paleolithic, Mesolithic… um. Err. Nope.

I HAVE HEARD! HUZZAH!

Now just need to maintain this momentum.

Not at all. I hate sunglasses. But I also hate hot sunny days. So I’ll be getting the op in due course…

I’m not looking to chunk up, but my biceps are definitely fuller and rounder than before. Plus, last night I was able to do a full set of 20 at 16kg dumbbells which even when much younger I couldn’t do. But then I did do heavier/fewer back then, so had no real stamina.

My last but one eye test, the charming optom cheerfully mentioned that when I have them done things will improve… up until then I wasn’t aware I was developing them.

If you’ve got a virus right now, and feeling blocked up and awful I promise this will help.
Grateful a thumb of fresh ginger into a small jug. Add a teaspoon of cinnamon and one of honey (local if possible). Pour boiling water over it and let it steep for 2-3 mins. Strain into a cup and drink it. x

I’d wear specs like now. I don’t know if they haven’t improved things, you might not need to choose anymore but when mum had hers done about fifteen years ago you were only able to choose one or the other.

Come on, come on. Email me. I need to place this order.

[drums fingers]

I’ll chase again tomorrow.

I cannot tell which has had the more profound effect, the taking of creatine or the more regular exercise with weights (I suspect the combo of the two) but I’m definitely seeing improvements and that’s very pleasing.

I genuinely think when I get my cataracts done in a decade or so I’ll opt for close vision lenses over distance…

In general, I’m not that put out by ageing. But losing close focus is the single most annoying thing under the sun. The inability to freely see really small things really close up is frustrating beyond measure.

Two years too high. Though given how ill I feel today I’ll take that as a win.

Lovely! And, morning!

I’m enjoying working through this book. I’m a complete beginner at any coding, let alone Python, and it starts off really gently. I’ve been debugging some of the code because of typos, and adding extra lines to improve the little projects done along the way. Recommended.
Cover of Coding for Beginners in easy steps by Mike McGrath. The cover is acid green with an inset quartered circle. There is a bigger inset purple circle that has an inset smaller circular graphic of someone sitting at a desk, wearing headphones, typing at a keyboard with a huge lightbulb to the left, presumably indicating a moment of learning.

I did say it was weird.

I’ve weirdly little space in my heart for the Maxi 2.

Yes! Takes me back properly. Ah! Those were the days.

Their pages were just huge gaps, week to view. My mum used hers all the time. I miss them!

Two lines here, too. No way would I ever have found yellow and purple.
