If you're looking for a Critical of AI reading list before you are in front of governments... A few dozen titles to consider here

The biggest advertising victory the tech industry ever achieved was getting us all to call their product ‘AI’. It’s not: it’s a bullshit machine that outputs slop with complete indifference to its truth or falsity (or utter vacuity)
Calling all the PhDs I know to make monumental annoyances of themselves (and honestly, who better)

Beautiful. This makes me proud to be an American, this is who we are—not some dimwit taking someone else’s trophy.
Incredibly emotional to hear my poem has been turned into a song of resistance and is being sung in Minneapolis right now. Please do not give up.

The American people electing Trump after he staged a coup attempt 5 years ago was a nail in the coffin of our democracy. You can rationalize it all you want - But inflation! But wokeness! - but ultimately it was a societal suicide attempt and probably the dumbest collective voting decision ever made

There are a hundred more important things to say, and I tried to say some of them in my essay for "Thinking About...", but: invading a country for oil is also just atavistic at this point. Even if it worked, which it won’t, it still wouldn’t work.
Wall Street’s biggest banks made more money financing green projects than they did from working with fossil fuel companies for a fourth straight year, even as they faced ongoing pressure to pull back from the business

One bizarre feature of the Trump regimes comments that hasn't been emphasized yet, re: Venezuela. They are using the language of a corporate takeover. Specifically, they are claiming the U.S. is going to 'run' Venezuela by sending U.S. oil companies there to make it 'profitable' (for whom, exactly?)

Extremely useful thread
Some thoughts on what Trump has done in Venezuela and what it might mean for US national security. Caveat: not a Latin America scholar so this is focused on US policy. Clearly huge consequences for Venezuela that others can address.

First, despite the buildup, I didn't think Trump would do it.

Trump's major foreign policy failures 2025:
-Destroying US soft power tools
-Irrational tariffs on allies
-Ending aid to Ukraine
-Playing chicken w/ Xi & backing down
-Selling best chips to China
-Tiptoeing into war w/ Venezuela
-Alienating allies (Canada, Greenland)
-Supporting Putin
I could go on
The Trump administrations biggest foreign policy achievements in 2025: ending the war in Gaza, sanctioning Rosneft and Lukhoil, and pledging an $11 billion arms sales to Taiwan.
(Future posts coming of their failures)
