This Spirit squad will always have a special place in my heart. They helped me get through the tumult of months of psychological trauma and the upending of my career. They spoke to the city’s pain and stood in community with the fans. They understood the assignment.

You don’t know me at all. I have raised tens of thousands of dollars for victims of domestic violence through my sports fandom community. But go off man. Continue yelling at strangers on the internet. That is surely a good use of your time advancing the causes you support.

Already had to block the guy who decided that post was the appropriate vehicle for mocking Angel Reese? And also love the dash of transphobia in the replies too (though there would be way more of that on Twitter).

I hope you spend all of your disposable income on feeding hungry kids then and consume zero entertainment. No art, no music, no TV, no movies. All money spent on those things that bring joy is wasteful by this worldview.

It’s very much a temporary situation. Hopefully the league grows and thrives and then the teams can move into ballparks in their home cities.

I’m not sure how any of that is my fault exactly. If it were up to me, baseball would be nationalized. But unfortunately we live in a capitalist society and sneering at fans over that fact is indeed odd.

I also am not reliant on my podcast as my primary source of income so I understand that creators have to do what they have to do to make a living, but I do not understand the pivot to video at all. I have never watched a podcast on YouTube in my life.

Imagine thinking the replies of a post celebrating women’s sports is an appropriate place to say mean spirited things about female athletes. Just not saying anything is always an option!

I literally work in health policy so I can definitely walk and chew gum at the same time. Just because I enjoy sports as a hobby doesn’t mean I don’t think these real life issues are important. What an odd thing to say.

What an ignorant response. I’m not even sure what the implication is here but I was a former federal employee who was fired by this administration so, no, I am certainly not “impervious” to other changes around me. Just trying to find joy where I can. Sorry if that offends.
