Today’s Daily Blast pod with @gregsargent.bsky.social and @monicapotts.bsky.social spotlights GOP desperation and dim prospects for the midterms. They discuss how radioactive ACA subsidies are for the GOP, how Trump won’t produce a viable alternative, and how for-profit corporatized healthcare
Why Republicans in Congress Hate Trump’s Health Care Plan
The House GOP revolted after details of the plan leaked over the weekend. Now its status is unclear.

25 November 1942 | A transport of some 2,000 Jewish men, women, and children deported from the ghetto in Grodno arrived at #Auschwitz.

After the arrival selection, 305 men and 128 women were registered in the camp. The remaining Jews, probably 1,567 people, were murdered in gas chambers.

An excellent discussion with @davidkurtz.bsky.social of the lawless Trump regime’s absolute bungling of his vindictive prosecutions, and Hegseth’s half baked attempt to court martial Senator Mark Kelly. As they said, we clearly need a post-Watergate style course correction in our legal system.
On this pod:

-why restoring rule of law after Trump will be so challenging

-the need for a post-Trump reckoning that rivals what happened after abuses of Vietnam/Watergate

-why Trump's effort to get revenge on Sen Mark Kelly is so deeply corrupt

@davidkurtz.bsky.social is very good throughout:
Trump's prosecutions of Comey and Letitia James fell apart precisely because he ousted career prosecutors who insisted on following facts and law. His installation of a pliant stooge is what blew up in his face.

On the pod, @davidkurtz.bsky.social is great on this:

@timothysnyder.bsky.social has a very detailed breakdown of the so-called peace plan for Ukraine that was apparently written by Russia and involved dim bulb Steve Witkoff and dishonest sleaze Jared Kushner. This “plan” should be utterly rejected by the Ukrainians.

Xitter: a cesspool of AI, bot, and troll driven bullshit, fueled by a megalomaniacal, drug addled moron suffering from Smartest Guy in the Room syndrome. Self-respecting, non-sensational journalists need to use other sources for accurate reporting. I closed my account when dufus bought the company.
If you’re a journalist who’s still on Twitter, from now on in your writing you have to replace “the American people want” with “troll bots in Eastern Europe demand”

Being there makes your judgment suspect. I don’t care how savvy you think you are, you’re marinating in a disinformation campaign.

Excellent discussion today with @amandamarcotte.bsky.social on the media waking up to Trump’s weaknesses. The media and elites need to read the tea leaves more closely. The people are done with fascist ICE raids on our cities and towns, and the rank corruption of the regime and corporate stooges.

But anyway...

See, this is where racism and the belief of superiority over others makes White men like these two plot shyt like this.

So, two white guys plotted to roll up on a island off of Haiti and take over. Pffft!

Yeah, okay.🤭

Thanks for sharing @gregsargent.bsky.social. Excellent article @aselrod.bsky.social. Carlson’s and Fuentes’ sick comments underscore how and why they and their followers are radioactive to women. Megyn Kelly’s indefensible comments about young girls for clicks and views are disgusting.
In this piece, @aselrod.bsky.social reminds us that Nick Fuentes and Tucker Carlson are trafficking in the vilest forms of male supremacy and are flourishing as huge stars on the right, so there's clearly a huge following for that sort of depravity:
Megyn Kelly claimed Epstein was into “the barely legal type,” referring to 15 year-olds.

So I wrote about how her comments highlight the ways both purity culture and rape culture sexualize young girls and make male desire their responsibility.

@gregsargent.bsky.social’s conversation with Rep Houlahan is required listening. I agree with Greg: if Piggy’s threats against MOCs aren’t an impeachable offense, what are? Where are the Republican denunciations? They all took the oath to defend the constitution too!
Remarkable: Rep Chrissy Houlahan, one of the Dems that Trump called for executing, tells me her office literally filled out a Capitol Police threat report that listed "the president" as the person making the threat.

It's at 9:20 on our pod. Much more like that here:

WTAF?! Piggy needs to calm TF down.
Important: House Dem leaders just said Trump's call for execution of Dems has prompted them to contact US Capitol Police and House Sergeant at Arms to "ensure the safety of these members and their families."
