some people wonder why influential figures like elon are moving to politics and just yapping on twitter instead of investing in engineering and business.

well, that's mostly because yapping some political nonsense gives you the same feeling of power without doing anything.

As LLM's become more prominent I'm inclined to learn languages like Rust etc.

If we're going to be generating obscene amounts of code, we should at least try to make it safer & more efficient.

"AI for everyone" is ironic because AI tools need a stable internet connection, english skills, desk jobs, money, and email stress. for hourly workers struggling with housing, healthcare, immigration, debt, or family care, an AI email assistant is not a solution; it's a joke.

i look at clawdbot and think "wow this is so comically bad and broken, what a fun toy" and then i read about it online and people are actually trying to use it for productive purposes and give it access to their personal accts while praising how good of an idea it is

there's no saving this is there

npmx makes sure atproto powered applications are front and center.

And it should. Because npmx is going to use atproto to power some of its features 👀

Want to support ATProto? Support software developers that make apps. Both commercial ones and open source .
"It’s a real Mac app — written mostly in AppKit, supporting all the right UI idioms and platform integrations. It’s not just the best Bluesky client I’ve seen, for any platform, but maybe the best new Mac app I’ve seen in years, period. Certainly the one whose very existence has made me happiest" 🍎

no hard feelings to the bluesky team, love y’all and i’m rooting for your success, but i’m going all in on @anisota.net on my iPhone now that it has sufficient feature parity to facilitate not needing the official client — will also motivate me personally to finish closing the gap

I think it's the hyperbole that gives AI a black eye.

Yes, you need an engineer to use ai effectively.

Simplified: ai is just to your robotic keyboard. It types out what you (Engineer) thinks.

That is its power: it will absolutely type faster than you.

You are now Editor in Chief.
