Hey. I'm Paul.

I make films about the landscape and it's History.

Generally, I produce a short video every Sunday, 8 pm UK time.

You can watch them all here for free... youtube.com/@pwhitewick?...

Find it..... stick it on my shelf mate.
"I've never sold a single item & I've found thousands of coins."

'he keeps his finds carefully arranged in a display cabinet at his home.'

...that's just one #detectorist.

Multiply that by perhaps 40,000 people - that's an awful lot of artefacts.

Stop it.

Unless you are a Rail Worker. Stop using petrol to blow leaves from one place to another.

A glimpse through the topsoil of #Stonehenge for #StandingStoneSunday

Like an iceberg, there is more of these bluestone below the surface than above

Unlike icebergs, it's not because they're less dense than saltwater

Quite the pressing issue......
Guess what I've spent the morning doing??

TLDR it's all getting worse: number of Treasure finds up, number of donations and acquisitions down.

Thanks Kate.

Absolutely loved making this. A joy.
Don’t just watch this because I’m in it. Watch it because it offers hope. Connecting communities is the ethos of our 200 year old railway system.

This is an awesome video
There’s diesel engines, there’s heritage railways, there’s Rebecca, There’s me, there’s Geoff, there’s a councillor called Chris.
But most importantly, there’s a vision. A project that could connect communities and improve lives, which is what the railways are all about.
5pm today..... Can I do what!!??

Metal Detecting needs change.
Today's news:

What happens when museums can't afford to buy coins...

'Auctioneer, David Guest said the "stunning" coins were sold to "bidders from all over the world and exceeded my expectations".'

Bidders.
From.
All.
Over.
The.
World.

Wow. Money going to individual finders instead of institutional support means museums get objects but lose capacity to care for them. The whole system needs rethinking. What's the point of acquiring treasure if you can't staff, store, or share it properly?
