I refuse to stay silent while politicians claim to stand with hard-working Americans then turn around & do the bidding of corporations.

This week, House Dems showed what it looks like to get it done by forcing a vote on Healthcare tax credits. We chose hard-working Americans over special interests!

Kamala Harris got the third most votes among all presidential candidates in the history of US presidential elections. Not too shabby.
I have the same indignation but from a different point of view. It assumes the way Dems "ran on democracy" in 2024 is the only way. Maybe there are smarter ways to tie American values to everyday lives

Also defining "working" against election results rather than Harris's vote totals is simplistic
i’ve seen the “running on democracy didn’t work in 2024” line so many times the last 10 months and it is so emblematic of everything wrong with the dem party. abandoning something that fundamental because it didn’t work *one* time in one the weirdest elections this century

Seems to me that socialism is govt interfering in private enterprise to benefit the vast majority of the governed, and what we have now is govt interfering in private enterprise to benefit the oligarchs.
And it dates to slavery, when pro-slavery forces equated the abolition movement with socialism, or redistributing slaveholders' property. Here's arch slavery defender George Fitzhugh in 1857:

Appropriate that we learn about it on the same day SCOTUS hears oral arguments for a case that may remove the last remaining way to hold federal agents accountable for this kind of terror.

Despicable!
This is the single bleakest thing I’ve heard any Trump oligarch say yet.

“You can all toil away in the factories with no hope of advancement, for you, your kids, and generations after.”

Almost cartoonish in its abject villainy.
Lutnick: "It's time to train people not to do the jobs of the past, but to do the great jobs of the future. This is the new model where you work in these kinds of plants for the rest of your life and your kids work here and your grandkids work here. We let the auto plants go overseas."
