NEW: The British politician, his Russian intelligence handler & a Kremlin plot against the US & Ukraine.

My new piece about Nathan Gill and Nigel Farage for @thenerve_news in which we ask:

Why, even now, is no-one asking questions?

I usually only post about my paintings here, but I just wanted to share some freshly cut grass on a beautiful sunny day.

Let’s be clear. When the President defies the Supreme Court, it is the role of Congress to remove him from office. Full stop.

Hi, I'm an artist/musician. Just moved from my - soon to be terminated FB and Insta accounts. For now I'd just like to introduce myself and hopefully start meeting likeminded people here. I will post something soon. I'm looking forward to a good dialogue, so please feel free to comment on my posts.

A suitcase is a pocket,
dreams tucked inside.
Corners hold secrets,
zippers guide.
Inside, the future stirs,
ready to unfold,
a map to adventures
yet to be told.

There's that hat and suitcase again. This was a commission for a man's son, whose trumpet is on top of the case.

"Mama Mía!" cries my restless fork,
Famished like a breadless "cesto",
yearning for parmesana,
spaghetti galaxies,
meatballs in orbit,
tomato sauce,
garlic bread,
pasta,
smack!

How about some nice shiny tomatoes for a sunny Sunday (here in France, at least). I painted a few of these tomato paintings as I loved the shape and the warm reds.

A different painting today: an old French door knocker in Angouleme. I intentionally left the knocker at an angle instead of straight up and down.

This painting was done on a deep cradled panel, so that when it's on a wall it will give more reality to the trompe l'oeil (3D) effect.

In painting this, it was the composition of the angle of the knife and the angle of the shadow that I liked (against the roundness of the pear).

Thank you 🙂
Not too good at straight lines myself 😁

This trompe l'oeil painting goes back a while, but makes me want to do more of these. I love the challenge of trying to get that depth to 'fool the eye'.

Another painting of a peeled tangerine, but this time it was the light in the shadow area of the tangerine that made me want to paint this one.

I can only find a small photo of this painting .... orange is the theme, even the background 😉

I like the shadows of the hat and the handle in this painting. Done on oil primed fine Belgian linen for a change.

Todays painting (only one today as I'm teaching my class of French students later and trying to get some work done before that).

Todays painting is off a peeled orange. I really enjoy painting peeled fruit as it reminds me of the old Flemish masters that I love so much.

Old cast iron, French, cooking pot (that lives next to my living room stone fireplace - where it would have been originally) and some kind of pumpkin (?).
