For anyone still supporting this regime, seems like for you we should add a new stanza:

Then they came for the gun owners
But I did not speak out
Because I'm a hypocritical dipshit

It's 2020.
There's a fascist regime in control.
There's state-sponsored murders in Minneapolis.
There's massive protests across the country.
There's a major threat to my personal health if I leave my house.

It's 2026...

The intolerant deserve no tolerance.
The unaccepting deserve no acceptance.
The warmongering deserve no peace.
The hateful deserve no love.

Not shocking and extremely easy to believe, he always carried a heavy form of arrogance that truly shone through his games.

But also saddening, as Braid and The Witness are wonderful and awful in their own ways, and this might make them impossible for me to revisit.
NEW: I spoke to Jonathan Blow about his ambitious new puzzle game and why it took ten years to make. Then, days after the announcement, three designers came out denouncing Blow for his views on Trump (pro), vaccines (anti), and more. Here's the whole messy story: www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...

The announcement of ‘Order of the Sinking Star’ was met with criticism over the political views of its creator Jonathan Blow

Jesus Christ I wish people would retire “clout chasing” already. It’s as meaningless and dismissive as “virtue signaling.” What you’re actually saying is “You can’t possibly believe that, you’re jus trying to seem cool and score points with perceived cool people”. It’s a craven accusation

As someone who's owned a Switch since launch day, this is a really awesome look back on the nearly 9 years I spent with it. Hoping to get the same amount of joy from the Switch 2! #Nintendo #YearInReview

Wait, why didn't Mel Brooks ever make a prequel-satire? The story of the rise of Dark Helmet and Skroob.

And the name "Spaceball" was right there.

It would have made at least tens of dollars! And that's in like, early 2000s money!

2026. What a year, huh?

Been thinking a lot recently about how much victim-blaming is just a way to pretend the victim is the only one with agency in the situation.

Can't be anyone else's fault, the victim MADE them do it.
losing my mind at the "she should have followed directions" people

really? really? you're cool with "if you don't follow directions, they get to kill you"? that seems like a good state of affairs to you? that seems like how law enforcement ought to work: instant obeisance or death?

Happy 5th Anniversary of storming the Capitol!

I dunno about you, but gift-shopping for a wannabe-dictator is extremely difficult...

Anyone know how much printing a "peace" prize would cost? As a wood plaque obviously, it is the 5th Anniversary after all!

I always love waking up to the disregard for another country's sovereignty. Great start to the midterm year. Stay classy, 2026...

#AdventOfCode Day 6

So I actually did this like a week ago, but forgot to upload and share. The main thing I remember is that one little typo in one section is what kept my part 2 from working as expected for way too long...

#AdventOfCode Day 5

Life got crazy, but I now have some time to poke again. So here, finally, is Day 5. A good way to dive into managing moves, borrows, and copies in Rust and poking at different data structures.

#AdventOfCode Day 4

Working my way to catch up still. Pretty straight-forward again, but there's definitely some quality-of-life issues I think Rust is missing (looking at you, integer-type cross-compatibility...)

Thinking I'm getting the feel for this Rust thing...
Nothing too crazy to note for this one.

#AdventOfCode Day 1

Yes, yes, I'm late. It's cause I decided to set up and play with Rust this year. And I've been slowly trying to get my feet under me. But hey, it was a success, and here's Day 1. Not really that interesting though...

I don't think we have a way to recall our government, but honestly I'll vote for whoever runs on passing such legislation in 2026. #RecallCongress

I'm not religious, but if I were...

- Trump: Antichrist
- Putin: War
- Vance: Death
- RFK: Famine
- RFKs Worm: Pestilence

Again though, not religious, this isn't a biblical apocalypse. This is humans with power retaining that power via short-sighted means. Oldest story in the book.
