It’s really weird how collective experiences of a thing inform how we later view that thing on our own.

Then there’s the stuff we never get to see on our own, and all the stuff we see on our own that can’t be shared.

That’s what births art.
Currently my favorite thing about my Nintendo Switch is playing it in handheld mode inexplicably draws the cat to come visit and sleep next to me.

Somewhere along the way artists were lead to aspire to become art machines, and I do get discipline and practice and results, but also I’m much happier really figuring out what I love to make, that I love so much I’d be comfortable sharing it with absolutely everyone and not feel insecure at all

I used to desire deadlines, and regular productivity, but I realized I do this for myself, the thrills I get figuring things out. I am my own audience, no one else will ever get to know what I encounter and experience making my story, but I do hope when I’m done people will like what’s here

Everything worth doing happens more slowly than we expect, even when we’re working very hard at it.

A conspiracy theory corkboard but it’s just red strings connecting household chores and things needing fixing and grocery lists (dishes must be done in order to make dinner, vegetables needed for salad, garbage night, etc)

There are things today we can't do. Stop worrying about them for now. Not forever; just for now.

There are things today we can do. Focus on that. There are people who need help -- let's focus on them.

Each morrow, we take what we can do, and do it. With what we can't, put them aside.

Breathe.

I’m a pretty diligent, responsible person who in general succeeds pretty well at improving the lives of people around me at least a little bit every day, but I still feel incredible frustration that I don’t see a way to improve things on a larger scale than even just a 50 foot radius around my being

Sitting a stewing in frustration isn't nearly as cathartic as just designing a poster. Let's see how often I remember that in 2026.

Emotionally exhausted people often apologize reflexively because they don’t know what else to say. On a good day you can catch me doing it at least three times a week.

Not the only times but at the least those three times

It’s actually snowed enough to make a snowman! Sure, I had to gather snow from the driveway and sidewalks to consolidate it into enough to work with, but we did it! (We’ll get back to it in a bit, it’s not done yet)

It’s not ‘done’ but it’s strong, it’s pretty close, I’m happy how it’s turning out but I probably should have done more prep sketches, this was 100% digital and I fought with it a ton.
