It’s really weird how collective experiences of a thing inform how we later view that thing on our own.

Then there’s the stuff we never get to see on our own, and all the stuff we see on our own that can’t be shared.

That’s what births art.
I’ll just add for emphasis: Power strips and the like almost always complicate the reliability of PLNAs in much the same way a busy intersection complicates the flow of traffic. So unless absolutely necessary, go directly to a power outlet with them or use an extension cord if space is a concern
maybe you’ve already had history with these things and I’m wasting your time, but if not, definitely check out a youtube on them, they’re great for some situations where WiFi won’t work and Ethernet is also impractical
the idea is PLNAs facilitate a pseudo Ethernet connection using the existing wiring in the home, and then you Ethernet connect one to your router and one to your computer. Avoid outlets that are connected to lightswitches as that interrupts the connection when they are set to Off.
this may lead to further madness, but I humbly suggest Power Line Network Adapters. They require direct power outlet connections near your router and your computer, and the outlets being on the same power grid (which is true for MOST homes), and the wiring in your home to be solid(not in disrepair)

god dammit, I knew I should’ve shaved when the cat woke me up at 4 AM. My skin on my neck feels like it’s giving birth to sandpaper and this WILL bother me all day
I hear you, but also I’m completely willing to accept that perfect Alucard had an awkward teenage phase that he will never ever acknowledge. I don’t care if it doesn’t make sense on some timeline. He believed he was cool before he realized he was actually being a dork.
Man, I miss the hell out of magazine ads where a dev or publisher put out a two page flex on their current lineup. Times are different now, of course, but the spirit of the idea was fun and we rarely need less fun.
Lately I feel like a comic is like building a road to a place that doesn’t exist until I get there. Once I get there, I’ll be able to be a guide and show others what I hoped to find and see if they agree.
nuts, I was hoping maybe you might have an ancient old model iPad or a fire tablet somewhere
Maybe some kind of tablet chicanery is the way to go, it might break the spirit of it slightly but you can’t tell me that Hell didn’t go digital in the eighties and never looked back
It’s strange. It’s also strange that it can even be strange at all.
I haven’t gotten a desktop machine in a decade. So the experience of desktop multitasking is one I filtered out through the years. Now I’m trying to reintegrate it, while keeping the iPad for drawing.
I have an iPad Pro for one very specific reason: Procreate. I’m really only there to draw. I specifically trained myself into treating it as that one role so just holding it reminds me of doing that one thing, if I pick it up or unlock the screen it’s because I’m going to start drawing, that’s it.
Insane as it is to say, after years of monotasking on iPads, it’s taken a while for me to mentally accept “this is a laptop and you can do word processing and play music and games and run lots of programs on it if you want to, that’s what it’s for.”
I wonder if there’s been any studies on the kinds of apps that tend to get developed in certain nations or regions based on the policies of the area
I can’t imagine a sentient pine tree would enjoy being an indoor Christmas tree
