Trump isn’t some aberration. He’s the conservative movement’s logical and inevitable—and intentional—endpoint.

The movement was always an AstroTurf propaganda effort by anti-democratic corporate interests and scions from wealthy families that preferred fascism to Roosevelt.

"Chronic Fatigue Syndrome" was a hideous misnomer from the start--crushing fatigue is one symptom out of 200--& the CDC failed miserably in coining the name in 1988

Donald Trump won this district in Louisiana by 13 points in 2024.

The Democrat just crushed a Republican extremist in this district by 24 points.

Folks, that’s a 37 point swing to the left. We can compete everywhere and win anywhere. Let’s keep this up!

Since the early days of the space program, astronauts have quarantined before missions because any illness could be disastrous. It’s eminently logical — not “extreme” — for athletes who’ve trained their WHOLE LIVES for one event to take similar precautions in order to stay in peak physical condition

U.K. might lose a prime minister because a guy who worked for him knew another guy who hung out with Epstein. Meanwhile the U.S. opposition party is telling our President, who was Epstein's best friend, that his secret police should get better training so their public street murders look less messy.

You know what they’re going to store in those warehouses?

People
In the last month ICE has bought warehouses in:

- Hagerstown, MD: $102 million
- Surprise, AZ: $70 million
- Hamburg, PA: $87 million
- Tremont, PA: $120 million
- San Antonio, TX: $82 million
- El Paso, TX: $123 million
- Social Circle, GA: price unknown

This is unprecedented.

Columbus introduced sugar cane to the Caribbean and his son opened the first plantation. They were the originators of this brutality.

So many Caribbean people died on these plantations that they eventually had to start bringing in slaves from Africa.

Average lifespan once there was only 7 years.
Mortality rates were so high on sugar plantations during slavery that slaveholders used to coerce enslaved people working other crops like cotton with threats to sell them or their loved ones to sugar plantations.

That’s where the term “sold down the river” came from.

I want to thank everyone who posts gift articles of really important stories that all Americans should read but are behind paywalls so most can’t.

There are some stories that are so important to the public interest that media companies should remove paywalls on some occasions.

the answer to his hypothetical about a five year old American citizen is his party would like to deny it food and healthcare if its parents are working but poor and that the party would like to tear gas the American child if the parents take the kid to do free speech incorrectly
Gonzales on Liam Ramos and his family: "They're not gonna qualify for asylum. So what do you do with all the people that go through the process and do not qualify for asylum? You deport them. I understand that 5-year-old and it breaks my heart. I also think, what about that 5-year-old US citizen?"

Begging folks to realize that ICE enforcement is a mass disabling event.

People are being shot. They’ve been blinded. They’ve been traumatized.

The camps are full of disease.

TB, Covid and measles can all kill but they also disable.

It’s eugenics.

Eighteen cases of COVID-19 were also identified. U.S. Rep. Veronica Escobar on Friday visited the 5,000-bed tent facility on the Fort Bliss Army base and said she saw many "chronic issues."

Why are so many undocumented immigrants being held in detention for so long instead of being deported?
Simple. The billionaires who own the detention centers get paid for keeping people here. They don't get paid for people who get deported.
It's not about the law, it's about taking your money.

putting this here. Who’s bringing food to people with long covid who are too weak to cook or are you just condemning them for ordering delivery? Are you masking up to visit friends or making them sicker or just abandoning them? There is a precedence for community care in the face of gov abandonment!
For someone who brought meals to AIDS shut-ins who'd been erased by society, and who lost many friends in the 90's, this is simply astounding.

In a moral & ethical society, it would be free for anyone who wants it. We're the only industrialized nation without single payer/nationalized health care.

The US is spending more money and resources locking up children in ICE camps than they are prosecuting people who trafficked and raped children.

Not one arrest has been made in connection with the Epstein files.

Thousands of immigrants who’ve committed no crimes have been locked up.
