Q: Can you confirm that CBP actually hit a party balloon it thought was a drone with a laser? And why wasn't that coordinated with the FAA?

KRISTI NOEM: You know, this was a joint agency task force, um, mission that was undertaken. And um, we're continuing to work on communication

The El Paso story is a perfect little slice of Trumpism. You take the combined incompetence of our Dep'ts of Transportation, Defense & Homeland Security and create a major public safety risk, shut down a major airport, alarm our neighbors that we are about attack them & shoot down a party balloon.

Great summary @gilduran.com thank you! To any of my friends who support Gavin, you must stop and read this now. He is not a progressive and he is not gonna help.
I’ve watched Gavin Newsom’s career for 20+ years. It’s a buffet of big lies & failed hopes

Like Trump, he breaks promises, serves billionaire interests & mistakes social media theatrics for leadership.

Is that what we need in 2028?

Thank you Rep. McIver!
McIVER: Do you consider yourself a religious man?

LYONS: Yes mam

McIVER: How do you think judgment day will work for you with so much blood on your hands?

LYONS: I'm not going to entertain that question

McIVER: Do you think you're going to hell, Mr Lyons?

Yes! Thank you Rep. Ramirez.
Rep. Delia Ramirez to DHS officials: "I have as much respect for you as I do for the last white men who put on masks to terrorize communities of color. I have no respect for the inheritors of the Klanhood and the slave patrol. Those activities were criminal and so are yours."

Reminder that this is a *friendly* question from a GOP Senator — and Lutnick still fumbles it all!

I will never get over how the Trump admin is almost universally the least curious people you could appoint to public life.
KENNEDY: The Census Bureau is under your jurisdiction & responsible for defining what it means to be poor, is that right?

LUTNICK: I don't know

K: Well you need to look, bc it does. What's the % of Americans who live below poverty level?

L: I don't know

K: It's around 11%. It's been constant

The claims of Kristi Noem and a mass of MAGA talking heads about the mortal peril faced by ICE agents are a pure lie. What a surprise.
Here's what DHS doesn't want you to know: Working for ICE is one of the safest jobs in America — and last year was the second-safest year for the agency on record.

And the doxxing? It hasn't actually happened even once.

The masks are justified by a lie. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/ice-s-mask...
ICE's Masks Are All a Lie
Working for ICE is actually less dangerous than being an elementary school student in America.

[frantically raising hand] ooh, ooh. I know. Because Americans have a constitutional right to vote but don't have a right to open a bank account or drive a car.
Mike Johnson: "Americans need an ID to drive, to open a bank account, to buy cold medicine, to file govt assistance, even to attend the DNC. So why would voting be any different? They can't answer that question."

Push them hard! They are our employees
I suspect there are a lot of House Democrats in their 70s or 80s who think they're going to coast back into a comfortable leadership position by keeping their head down and riding the blue wave, but they're going to have to navigate these kinds of challenges first and most are not ready at all.
“I would rather you vote for what is morally correct,” Davidson said.

“Don’t talk to me about my own morality,” DeLauro shot back.

“Don’t tell your constituents what they can and can’t talk to you about,” replied Rev. Nathan Empsall. “What you are voting for is not moral.”

Here's our attempt at telling their stories. 2/
